A relatively small property not far from Leek but very welcoming. The family have overcome many challenges supporting a disabled daughter and we were very impressed with their achievements. Very homely environment, helpful in getting most from local attractions and amenities. Accommodation and food comfortable and good. We have visited o few times and would use again if looking in this area.

Very friendly , homely and caring household.

I was given a very nice welcome by the owner and put in the furthest room, number 1. There appeared to be only one other person staying that night (Sunday). Although I booked and paid for bed and breakfast I was told the rate did not include breakfast so I laid £6.75 extra. I was told the shower would take time to reach the room as it had to come from the main building but after 8 minutes of trying to get any water I gave up. The roof beams in the bathroom are so low I hit my head several times as they are right above the toilet and shaving was difficult as the light is off to the side so the left side of your face is in the dark. Breakfast was nice though. It was hard to find anywhere for dinner on Sunday as the place I was directed to didn't serve food in the evening, nowhere else did either that I found, very disappointed.

Disappointed

We had a brief overnight stay here whilst attending an event at the nearby cricket club. Prospect House came recommended to us by friends who stayed a couple of years ago & it certainly didn't disappoint. 
Our host Jackie was extremely warm & welcoming, sadly we didn't get to meet Rolf during our short stay.  Our room was part of a small complex from the converted coach house & other outbuildings set around a delightful little courtyard.  Lots of character & charm with exposed stone & beams.  A cosy seating area was under the sloping part of the roof and there was a compact ensuite shower room.  Plenty of complimentary refreshments & good quality toiletries. 
Breakfast was in a pretty little dining room adjoining the owners house & cooked to order.  It simply could not be faulted.  Great quality ingredients, beautifully cooked & presented - with possibly the best coffee ever! I would have no hesitation in staying here again or recommending this gem of a place to anyone.

Charming, character fiiled gem.

We stayed at the prospect just after Christmas as had plans in the local area.
The location of the prospect was spot on and just a 30 minute walk from the lovely village of Cheddleton and churnet valley trains...
The accommodation was so quaint and perfect for us. 
The room was immaculately clean and had that cozy cottage feel. It was in a separate building away from the main house so gave that feeling of privacy. There was even a separate lounge area we were free to use (perfect for families with children..) 
The bed was the comfiest bed we have ever slept in and we had the most relaxing peaceful sleep!
The bespoke morning breakfast was an awesome start to the day. Rolf asked exactly what we fancied and cooked us up a treat.. Proper homecooked breakfast served with a smile! 
Our hosts were just great and really knew what they are doing.. Great conversation and nothing was too much. Lovely hosts! Thank you for having us we will Defo be back! 
Do stay here you won't be disappointed (trust us we are hard to please!)

A hidden gem not to be missed! 

Let's get the two negatives out of the way first.  The narrow entrance lane is difficult to spot in fast moving traffic although satnav helped my approach.  The only real let down in the accommodation was the bathroom (room 2) which had a sloping ceiling and made it necessary to assume a stoop to prevent banging one's head.  The basin and shower were too small to use comfortably and the floor was cold.

Other than the above it was all very good.  Rolf was the perfect host, friendly and welcoming. The rooms are in a separate block so easy to enter. My room was a double for my sole use and was warm and cosy. There were plenty of extras supplied such as toiletries, biscuits, hot chocolate and bottled water (replenished). A selection of DVDs were in the room and the bed was very comfortable.  I looked in the lounge but did not use it. It's probably a good facility for families.

My first morning required an early departure but Rolf was there to serve me whatever  I wanted as a light breakfast. The following morning I could appreciate the full menu! Final payment was quick and easy.

Overall a pleasant stay at a very reasonable rate and well recommended.

Stayed at prospect house for just one night just bed no breakfast  . Beautiful place clean and tidy . Very welcoming hosts ! Including the  gorgeous dog!  Just such a shame about the strong  fusty smell of damp . If this was sorted it would absolutely perfect !!
