We use this premier Inn every time we visit my daughter and nothing ever changes,
 
It's a wonderful experience every single time we arrive, The reception staff are always very welcoming and helpful and the bar staff couldn't do enough for you,

The rooms obviously are pretty much all the same unless you pay that little bit extra for the premier plus room and get free WiFi and a Nespresso coffee machine (with a downside of the rooms been the furthest away from the reception)

We sometimes don't to get breakfast due to our schedules but this time we did and as always met by Margaret with a happy smiling personality doing her best to keep all the guests happy.

David on reception went above and beyond to help us, what a great guy.
The dinner was very good and friendly staff. This is a great location to explore the Lake District and surrounding areas, we only stayed for one night but the next time we travel to this part of the country we will be using it again. Thank you David and the rest of the team.

David on reception was brilliant

The check in staff were utterly miserable which put us off straightaway, however staff on reception on the next shift were much more pleasant. We paid for a premium plus room Room 145 and the ultimate Wi-Fi didn’t work in there at all. Luckily we had a reasonable phone signal. I did report the Wi-Fi issue and was told there was nothing they could do. They did offer us a complimentary breakfast for one of the nights which was appreciated 

We were shocked when told we had to pay £10 to check in 25 minutes early it would be worth it to check in at 11.00am which is offered. 

The sheet didn’t fit the bed so crumpled up all the time. 

Evidence of lots of cost cutting such as having to request room service ( we stopped 2 nights) 

Outside the building is very tatty. 

We wouldn’t stay here again but would try one of the other Premier Inns in Carlisle. 

Probably the worst Premier inn stay we have had. 

Mediocre

I often stay in Premier Inns when sight seeing. They're cheap and cheerful in terms of rooms, as this one was. However, I rarely eat in one as I've always expected the bland chain menu to be a cast iron disappointment. On Easter Sunday I had no choice and was pleasantly surprised by the high quality of the food and service. My wife enjoyed the best brownie she'd had for some time. My son decided his burger was the best one of our holiday; he should know as he eats enough of them. My steak and cheesecake were both very pleasant. The service from Beth & Catalina was very friendly and professional throughout, despite how busy they were. Much better than expected!

Much better than expected!

Easy to check in, one member of staff that checked us in was polite the rest weren’t interested in helping, on ordering room service as it explained in there menu was told this is not the case was actually a take away service, bar for drinks rang the bell twice no one appeared for 10 minutes, food portion sizes for side of chips was disgusting amount for £5.00 lucky if you got 10 chips nothing about premier inn is quality or reasonable 

Not what you expect

Checkin quick and easy, we were given our meal deal voucher and booked table for dinner. 
We booked one of the new premier plus rooms this was lovely well worth the small extra cost.
Beth served us at dinner, she was lovely and pleasant. Food was excellent and brilliant value. We would recommend purchasing the meal deal included breakfast next day.
Margaret served us breakfast, she was lovely and pleasant. Breakfast was buffet and lots of choice.
Would recommend this premier inn as a great place to stay in Carlisle, hope to be back soon.

Fabulous Stay

Overall the stay was OK. 
Room and breakfast as you would expect. 
Margaret at breakfast was brilliant! Very attentive, happy to help everyone and always smiling. 
(The other waiter appeared to be doing a lot less).

Sadly our evening meal was a shambles. Very disorganised. Long wait for food.
We ordered simple food as we had our baby son with us who was getting tired. 
We asked for starters to come out with mains. They didn't. We were told the food would be 5minutes, we were still waiting 20 minutes later. 
A helpful waitress offered to take our baby food to warm up in some warm water. That took 15minutes and came back cold. 
When the food came out the pizza was not cooked enough and the dough was raw. It was sent back but due to everything taking so long I had to take it back to the room in a box. 
We wouldn't bother with a meal if we ever returned. 
Food was actually alright, just a shame about the wait and the raw pizza.

Average

The premier plus rooms are nice but there was no tea, coffee or milk therefore needed to go to the reception as soon as we got into the room to get some. The reception staff disappear regularly and even when you press the bell they take ages to show up

Premier plus rooms

The shower was not a power shower. It states on their website that all rooms have a power shower. Ours didn't. We were very disappointed. The room was clean and in reasonable condition but not quiet.  The bed was comfy and towels soft. 
We were placed a distance from the reception and our car and there wasn't a trolley to help move our bags.

The menu did not have many healthy options and there were none on the dessert menu. 
Outside the hotel the woodwork looked tired. 


Improvements needed 

We stayed at this primer inn as we were travelling up to Scotland for a holiday we booked a Premier plus room which was very nice ,clean had a coffee machine and mini fridge with two bottles of water plus you got chocolate bars !! Which was very welcomed after a long drive and getting caught in a thunder storm the only thing that spoilt the stay was we backed on to an industrial estate so at 4.30am you get noice from and lorrys being unloaded !! Not great ..also if your going to have a mini fridge why not had a small pint of milk !? As uht milk is gross !! breakfast was nice i think we would stay there again but maybe not have a room that backs on to the industrial estate
