You'd think it's 'cheap' to stay in a hostel, but no. Sure, the nightly rate might be considered cheap but given all the restrictions the hostel has set, it appears to be quite expensive, considering that we even got an ensuite.

WiFi has very limited access--I can't even access Outlook, no access to YouTube and several other 'basic' sites. You can't even send nor receive photos on some messaging apps, can't see the gifs, can't upload photos even on here. The WiFi in restaurants are way better.

Everything else has limited time: use of Kitchen, heating, hot water, etc. You only discover this once you check in. I'm posting the photos of their signs. We’ve stayed in several other hostels in the past, and it’s not like this.

No towel and toiletries--although this is indicated when you book. Even then, you'd think that if you're booking an ensuite, that's the least they'll provide, but no.

The design of the shower and toilet is bad. You'd get everything wet, and they don't even have any bath mat. If you ask for one, they'd give you a towel. Thankfully, for free. But if you ask for a new one because the other one just got soaking wet, they won't give you another one to replace it.

Some staff members are not friendly nor accommodating at all.

Location is pretty central--that's probably the only positive thing that can be said of them. But there are many other accommodations in the centre. You're better off paying a bit more and booking with them!

Don't think twice! It's just horrible.

POOR value for money

A great 3-night stay in a twin private room with bathroom/shower. Room and amenities basic but very clean, good radiator heating for chilly November. The very helpful receptionist provided me an extra duvet - I’m a colbody South African!  - which I didn’t need. 
The place was almost empty so we had the large well-equipped no-frills kitchen, and foyer seating almost to ourselves. Also the cost TV room. The cafe attached to the hostel is great- - friendly staff & locals, great cheap food. 
Very good place.

In the interest of transparency, know I had booked a 4 bed room for full price of  85GBP as the only private room available. 

Despite the rain & hail of the day and 6° temp ( "feels like 4°" according to the weather report) the heat in the freezing room only came on at 8 pm and shut off at 11pm.  Did not come on in the morning. 
Sound proofing doesn't exist. The sound of  running plumbing during my 2 night stay, mechanical and human, didn't contribute to the ambience. While conditions might be specific to my stay: 3:30 a.m. foot tread above,  conversation next door  later turned to gentle rumbling of a snorer, slamming doors, persistent door knocking 3:30 am, intermittent drilling 5:30-7 am.,  overall lack of soundproofing doesn't promise quiet rest.

2 night minimum booking on weekends i.e. Fri - Sun.

Richard booking on the phone and in person was patient and sympathetically responsive. But, I advise if you see availability online through a booking site, grab it and not bother calling the hostel directly. 
But then I  would not choose to stay here again

A cold and comfortless cell:

For the price, this hostel is good.  We had the smallest private room with bunk beds.  We had been warned by the hostel that it was very small but in actual fact it wasn’t too bad.  Very grateful they had a lift though because we were on the 2nd floor.  We pushed our cases under the bottom bunk for more room.  Only downfall was that the top bunk mattress had springs that stuck up and could easily be felt.  Plus was having a sink in the room.  The kitchen was good and the TV room a nice spot to sit.  Staff were friendly and helpful.  Shower area was fine but the toilet at our end was dirty.  We chose the hostel because it was easy walking distance from the train and Europa bus station.  It is also a comfortable walk downtown, close to shops and restaurants.  There is a pub across the road that was noisy into the early hours of the morning however, it was Saturday night so only to be expected I guess.  All in all we would recommend for a couple of nights.

Good value

There was no recycling at all at the hostel. In the kitchen there was a single bin where food waste, plastics, paper, cans and bottles were all mixed together. I was really shocked by this. I spoke to the management about it and they said they hope to have recycling soon. But it seems very regressive that recycling is not in place in 2023!
Apart from that the hostel was great. We had a family room with a sink and an amazing view over the Devis Hills. We also had a view of the Royal Pub which was definitely to be avoided as it was rough and sectarian. Once you avoided the rough pub and ignored the flags the area was really handy, with a great selection of restaurants around the corner, a 15 minute walk to the city and on the train line to the Titanic and the coast.
This hostel is an ideal base for exploring Belfast City on a budget with kids, but stay away from the rowdy pub and they need to sort out the recycling immediately. 

No recycling facilities! Otherwise great. 

How to start ? Assistant manager called David is rude no listen to the clients by phone, emails.JUST IGNORE ME,only heard and believe his receptionist phils, very weird,left to me talking on phone when I called to talk with David or Mr Paul the manager, IMPOLITE, when I trying to talk with him, protect the harassment receptionist phillips that victimaze him in the day of my reservation.The receptionist makes a drama calling the police because i refuse intimacy, his word all the time "one night" but I refuse,we know each other near to one year, but I never was interested in that recepcionist after know him more. The assistant manager told me get out with any reason and cancel my reservation,I returned because one day before talked with that recepcionist in a good way no fight and he suggests to make a reservation there by booking because i have a flight next day in Dublin.Both ( assistant manager and receptionist)treat me bad in the day of my reservation, told me get out and the receptionit phillips victimize him with the head down.I went to the  police and they told me it is NO business with them.It is business between the hostel and you,no with the police.Excuseme but harassment is investigate about the life of the receptionist,follow him everywhere, dressing inapropietely, or saying vocabulary like him.I had reservation and they cancel suddenly with my luggages inside the hostel.They continue saying is under by investigation and but the police told me is not their business no call anymore and they are surprise no apologize to me. They continue saying that I calling many times but is not true is booking.com that helped in that humillating and disgusting situation.THEY NEVER APOLOGIZE  TO ME CANCEL MY BOOKING FOR ANY REASON. The recepcionist planning all for revenge to me Also IF YOU SEE ALL THE TIME IF YOU MAKE A COMMEMTS AND THEY MISTAKE INSTEAD TO IMPROVE REPLY RUDE,SARCASTIC OR THAT THEY HAVE 4 OR 5 POINTS AND FLIENDLY STAFF, my reply of my comment of them is  just say I WILL PASS IT!!! they are very rude, THE WORST HOST EVER I NEVER HAPPEN JUST EXPECT APOLOGIZE,continue saying to me harassment but later deleted BECAUSE IS NOT TRUE!!! and delete my comment.I dont damage business but IT IS THE TRUE. Only website booking.com  helped with other hotel that day.And I dont understand why continue in booking.com I am frequently travel and never happen it, I had situations but we get a solutions in a good way with managers or just say sorry we will improve

THE WORST HOSTEL EVER!!!

Very well located, close to the center and to the Europa bus station (which is well connected with Dublin airport and major Northern Ireland cities). The staff was very friendly and helpful, the room was basic but clean and quiet. Good value for the money.

Decent choice in Belfast

The hostel is well situated close to downtown (10 min walk) and Queens Univ, with Botanic Ave closeby for restaurants and train station. Basic hostel and unfortunately the kitchen was not open due to staff shortage. As an older traveller I enjoy mixing with all kinds of people and that was certainly the case here. Happy to see Belfast a lot more cosmopolitan than when  i grew up here, and of course the Belfast craic is as brilliant as ever.

Belfast visit

The hostel is in a great location. Beds are tiny, but comfy. Our main issue was the WiFi did not work at all for the entire stay, which was quite a problem as we needed to book things and check in for flights. It was quite inconvenient to have to walk down the block to Starbucks every time we needed to use our phones. Plus a shelf or a divider in the shower would have been helpful, it was impossible to not get everything wet.

Not bad, not the best

Friendly staff, good rates and an easy ten minute walk into town. There is a great cheap cafe on site for breakfasts and close to many bars. Scary looking locals pub opposite but actually ok. Lots of other bars around the corner too
