My Partner and I stayed at Smithy Studio whilst we were judging a BBQ Competition in the local area.

Helen was very welcoming, friendly and cooks a mean breakfast!

The studio itself is beautifully furnished with lots of warmth and eclectic pieces of art dotted around.  

I am so glad that we took a chance on Smithy Studio as opposed to the usual Travelodge etc. for this was soooo much better.

Superb

Stayed overnight for my surprise 60th birthday party! Lovely accommodation, very comfortable bed,tea,coffee and biscuits and a lovely cosy atmosphere.Helens artwork is amazing and she’s a delight to talk to.Also,an amazing breakfast! Helen and her gorgeous dog were wonderful hosts. Will definitely be returning .

Wonderful

We visited Ashby for their Christmas market- Smithy Studios are less than 5 minute walk away which was perfect for us! We were greeted by Helen and her beautiful dog Mylo, and we were able to park right outside the property. We stayed in the private luxury suite which was off the main living area (with a gorgeous roaring fire!). The suite had a downstairs seating area with TV, a wet room and the bedroom was up a spiral staircase. Breakfast was included, served in the conservatory and it was everything you could ask for- fresh fruit, cereal, yoghurts, juice, tea and coffee and a beautifully cooked breakfast. Helen was the perfect host throughout and every detail had been thought of- we had a lovely stay!

Christmassy Break

Helen was an amazing host, I visited the owl house day spa for the whole day....15mins from Helens before staying the night. I was greeted with a glass of wine and made very welcome. I spent some of my evening cosied up by her log fire in my pjs listening to my book in her gorgeous home admiring her paintings. My room and bathroom (just a couple of steps across the stairs) were spacious, clean, warm and relaxing. The whole day/evening was the perfect stay for me, a tired mum wanting some pampering, relaxation and a much earned break. The breakfast was art work in itself and I demolished as much as I could. Thank you Helen.

Mum on a mission for relaxation!

Delightful stay in this lovely old property, host Helen and friendly dog Milo made us very welcome. Clean and comfortable, great to have a fridge in the room. Good breakfast, and excellent location. Need a little care on the stairs. Helen's art work a bonus! Recommended.

Homely and full of character

We visited there when picking a puppy. Very clean and wonderfully rustic and cosy house. Breakfast was excellent and we had huge portions. Full English breakfast, and fresh fruits, yoghurt, cereals, juice,coffee or tea, jams and butter. Friendly and kind service. Just excellent.

Really friend service and marvellous breakfast

Work took me to the area and the reviews for this B&B were good, and they proved to be correct. Smithy studio is easy enough to find just off main road.  Helen greeted me at the gate. The old forge has been beautifully restored. My room was spacious a nice touch was the fridge with fresh milk and water. Good strong WiFi allowing me to work.
My private bathroom was a small step across the corridor, clean and spacious again.
The breakfast was amazing, fresh fruit, compote, full English washed down with a good cup of tea.
All this was accompanied by a warm friendly host in Helen, with her lovely dog Milo.

Helen & Milo offer a warm welcome, great stay

Perfection in every way! Such a beautiful, peaceful place that smells delightful too. The accommodation is full of character, spotlessly clean and a peaceful oasis after a busy day. Helen and Milo are wonderful hosts - Milo bringing her ball for you to share... Why stay in a large hotel when you can stay here? A visit I won’t forget. Can’t think of praise higher than that! Oh.. and the breakfast was amazing!

Just returned from a beautiful nights stay at the Smthy Studio, exceptional warm welcome from Helen and Milo her dog, great place and location, lovely breakfast, no one could be disappointed, very clean, quiet and very comfortable,

Great stay

My father and I visited Ashby for my sisters birthday in August and booked this absolutely wonderful B&B. Helen was incredibly warm and friendly offering a glass of wine on arrival and showed us around our rooms. The house is a beautiful old country style house and the rooms were incredibly clean and comfortable. Helen was very helpful with places to go in the area and where to enjoy a nice glass of wine. The breakfast was made fresh every morning to order with an array of fruits, yoghurts cereals and an absolutely fantastic cooked breakfast 👌and milo the dog greeting you before you ate in the morning was a treat. The B&B is a stones throw from Ashby highstreet and other local amenities which was excellent. All in all a beautiful house, fabulous host and a lovely town. I'd definitely recommend staying here
