What an absolutely beautiful location ! I stayed at Graig Wen (camping facilities/ camper van ) on recommendation and it didn’t disappoint . The site is quirky and I loved that. The facilities were always spotless , the showers warm and fabulous. It is a perfect spot to get out walk , hike and explore the beauty of the Snowdonia National Park. The walk into Barmouth is flat and easy along the old railway trail and the ice cream and fish n chips are the perfect reward. At Graig Wen You can pitch up and not need to use your vehicle again (just make sure you’re fully stocked for food and treats) and as a solo female traveller I felt so safe. I definitely recommend this site

Beautiful Location Fabulous Quirky Site

Fantastic site staying on one of the camper van pitches in December. Info you receive prior to stay is great and in the 2 days we stayed we ticked off as many as we could. Ideally located for any adventures you want to have and on leaving we booked again for the summer to tick off a few more. Well done all and look forward to being back with the sun in tow

Cracking set up and location

We stayed in our campervan on a panorama pitch over half term for 2 nights.  
The views alone over the estuary make this a worthwhile visit. 
Site well maintained with the owners being very helpful at all times.
Facilities could do with a bit of modernising if I had to pick something to comment on.  
Location is great with Mawddach trail right on the doorstep.  Spent a day exploring the estuary and then climbed Cadair Idris the other day.
Would definitely recommend and sure we will be back.


Views to die for.

We stayed in one of the self catering cottages.  It was beautiful with an amazing view and walk down to the coast. We loved how easy it was to head out to climb mountains and walk along the coast too.  The cottage was perfect for us and our dog - could easily have brought both of our daughters too.

Great self catering cottage at Graig Wen

This was our fourth stay at Graig Wen and our second in Jones the Shepherd Hut ( please see below for our review of the wonderful small yurt). We arrived in high winds but were confident that we would be safe and cosy as we had previously stayed in tempest, storm and wind! The shepherd's hut feels lovely and secluded despite the nearby yurts and we found it hard to get out of bed on the morning watching squirrels and birds bob up the silver birch outside the window and listening to the gentle rustle of leaves. In the evenings there was the hoot of the tawny owl and owlets and one still evening, an aeronautic display by some bats. It was lovely to get back to basics and live a simpler life for a week, even if it meant going out for a short sprint in the rain to the compost loo, but also having the comforts of a sheep wool duvet, ordering a pain au Chocolat for a breakfast treat, drinking water in the hut and  having a private shower shed. It was great to see the new WiFi shelter which was handy for keeping in touch with elderly family members and seeing the weather forecast (although this was usually quite evident stepping out of the door!) Thank you very much to Sarah, John and the team for another really lovely time in the 'real world'!

The perfect combination of being out in the wilds with a few special comforts!

This has to be one of the most amazing places I’ve stayed, waking up to the view of the estuary every morning makes you feel incredibly lucky.
It’s been truly the most relaxing stay I’ve had with my family and the dog has loved the walks we’ve been on to the surrounding areas. 
The cottage has everything you need for a self catering experience and the online welcome book is inspired with fantastic hints and tips on the local areas and where to find the nearest shop/pub.
As a dog owner I’ve found the locality the most dog friendly location we’ve visited and it’s meant we’ve been able to spend some much needed time together as a family without electronics!! 
Today is our last day and if I could I’d stay forever, Graig Wen has really stolen my heart!! 
Thank you Sarah and John for such a wonderful experience, we can’t wait to come again!

Graig Wen stole my heart!!

We had a lovely holiday at Graig Wen. We stayed in Ty’r Adar which is one of the holiday cottages for a week. The accommodation was clean, comfortable and well equipped. The location is fabulous, so many places to visit in the local area. The highlight of our holiday was seeing dolphins at Tywyn beach and the waterfall walk in Coed Y Brenin Forest. Our beagle, Barney, really enjoyed his stay and loved visiting the many beaches. There is a fabulous pub down the road with beautiful views over the Estuary and excellent fish and chips at Barmouth. We would definitely recommend staying here, couldn’t fault it and we will be returning!

Graig Wen - Ty’r Adar Cottage

We stayed in the park and pitch, which has the most gorgeous views of the hills and valleys! And so very quiet!! 
Midges were pretty bad on our first night. Take some repellent!!  
Toilets and showers all clean and really appreciated their green ethos. 
A lovely walk down to the Estuary…although I’m glad I wasn’t carrying all our crap down there!! 

A beautiful place to celebrate our 4th wedding anniversary at the summer Solstice.

Incredible views

We stayed three nights on one of the panorama pitches overlooking the estuary below and the forest.  Really loved the facilities although showers could do with an update but this in no way detracts from the fantastic site and location.  Great walk to Barmouth and some spectacular scenic drives.  All very clean and friendly owners.

Fantastic Campervan stay

We stayed as a family of four in Little Haven one of the self catering cottages on site.  We were already excited in anticipation of our stay from having visited the area a couple of times before…but we were blown away when we actually got there… it was one of those ‘pinch yourself moments’.  The cottage itself was cosy, quirky, well equipped, and exceptionally clean.  The outside area was private, spacious and secure - if you had a dog or small children.  But the view!…. Wow! Magical! … but shush don’t tell anyone! It’s as peaceful as anyone could wish for and that’s pretty special. We feel so lucky, thank you to the hosts xx
