hotel is located in a quiet place, with a parking lot in front of the entrance, but not shut. Rooms are clean and confortable, but without air conditioned. Inside the hotel tere is a restaurant, but very inefficient with working people unfriendly.

Hotel in a quite place

This is a late Soviet era style hotel -- large, dark, empty lobby; faucets that swivel between sink and tub; small rooms.  The service was post-Soviet, however -- very pleasant dealing with staff, which responded quickly to our complaint about the hot water.  (We finally got some, but I would say it was a little bit more than luke warm).  The main point, however, is the location.  It is, according to the brochure, 1.1 kilometers from the city center.  It is set back from the road, behind a wooded, park like area, and therefore I imagine that even in the summer it would be very quiet.  The rooms have small balconies.  So the trade off is quiet for the more distant location.  The walk downtown takes about fifteen minutes, and is through a pleasant area, but if you want to be in the center of things than you should stay at the Hotel Star, which is on the corner of the two pedestrian malls downtown.  The hotel had free internet, but it did not reach the room, so you have to use the lounge on each floor of the hotel.  We did not eat breakfast in the hotel (it started at 9 a.m., although this was a Sunday, so maybe earlier during the week), so cannot judge the food.  Overall, a great value for $19; the room was clean and perfectly adequate.

Back in the USSR

I arrived in Mukachevo, or Mukacheve, at the beginning of this September. I knew nothing about the place but this hotel was recommended by some locals. I was satisfied with their recommendation: the hotel is nice, my room has an interesting layout, clean, the toilet has old fashion equipment but totally functional, the view from the window is nice. The hotel is located in a quiet area of the city, but pretty close to downtown – 15 to 20 min walking. Dining facilities are OK, the staff is friendly but, unfortunately, no English speakers – very difficult to understand each other.
