Gokcen Hotel & Apartments

Wow. I’ll be honest, I was looking for a well priced getaway for two weeks, close to Oludeniz, but not there precisely because of the heat and the severe traffic congestion. This hotel came up and I got the last room. I am so glad that I did. I will get the bad points out of the way first. There, that was easy, wasn’t it? Everything is fantastic, the cleanliness, the food, Sibel’s amazing Long Island iced teas, the test match on TV, the relaxed vibe, the lack of karaoke and poolside ‘ entertainment’, the other guests, the basic but perfect rooms et cetera. But what sets this small hotel apart is the unbelievable attitude of the staff, all the staff. They cannot do enough for you, all with a smile, and within two hours everybody knew my name and I knew theirs, which really added to the convivial atmosphere. Prices are very reasonable, about three quid for a pint and they just add everything to your daily tab making life very simple indeed. So simple, that I have not felt this relaxed in many years. In a way, I don’t really want to post this in case the status quo is in any way disrupted, but Errol and his fantastic team deserve all the accolades that come their way. Thank you all very much!
