17 reviews(late March 2021 -- early July 2021) Serkan bey is one of the most empathetic and charming hosts I've met during my travel in Turkey in 2021. He helped with a lot of small (and not so small) issues. Sometimes he gave me small presents, which was very nice of him! =) The location is only 10 minutes walk East from Alsancak Gar public transportation hub (train, streetcar, buses). Taxis/cabs usually wait nearby, too. The other way (also about 10 minutes) is famous Kordon area for seaside promenades, as well as one of the most popular Alsancak streets for shopping. The minor downside is that there are prostitutes in the area. However, prostitution is legal in Turkey, and there's lots of police because the location is very touristic at the same time. So, the bright side is that I haven't noticed any criminal activity and I believe it is still one of the safest areas of the city (there is a big police station and a lot of patrols are on the streets). In general, it was an amazing experience, but don't expect this place to be a 5-star hotel or a typical party-hostel. It's a budget Turkish boutique hotel (a few suites with single and double beds) and there is only one dorm/hostel-type room with bunk beds. The sound isolation isn't perfect, so headphones and/or earplugs is a good idea! Almost forgot, the terrace with birds is a really good place to wind down in the evenings and get a good start of your day in the early mornings!!
