Hey everyone! I just had an amazing time at this super cool villa resort on Ko Phangan island. Bruce and his dad were the best hosts ever, super friendly and helpful.

The villas were cozy, clean, and had everything we needed. We couldn't get enough of the swimming pool – it was perfect for chilling out and enjoying the sun.

Bruce and his dad really made us feel at home, always up for a chat and full of great tips about the island. If you're heading to Ko Phangan, don't miss out on staying at this place.

Awesome Stay at Coconut Lane Villas

Don’t recommend!
This is the most horrible renting experience in Koh Phangan.
We found this place on Facebook and agreed to rent it for 1 month, we paid 23 thousand baht in full and also gave them 10 thousand baht deposit. We moved in and that is when all the problems started popping up.

1. The place is nothing like the photos, it’s run down and dirty it smelled like cat pee quite strongly, the smell was so strong that our things and clothes started smelling the same.
2. The pump was broken and was making terrible noises all day and night and it was hard to sleep through it.
3. There were a lot of minor issues like, broken toilet seat, broken shelves, the light switch that didn’t work, broken door handles. The place is in general old and run down.
4. Broken front doors that you can just slide to the side and enter, so the lock there doesn’t make any sense.
5. Dirty sofa, that smelled like sweat and cat pee, with a lot of stains the nature of which I don’t even want to know.
6. Wifi was horrible

We were quite shocked and disappointed so we wanted to address this stuff to the owners who seemed nice at the beginning. When we started to explain the situation to Bruce and Jana (the owners) they got quite angry. Bruce started yelling and being aggressive which added up to our original shock. They said that if we wanted to move out, we could leave anytime but they’d keep all our money because it’s our “problem” that we didn’t like it.
Also, Bruce said that if we wanted to rent the place daily we would have paid 2 thousand baht per day, which is frankly laughable.

It seemed quite unfair to just give these people our money and we decided to stay till the end of the month but asked to at least fix things. They fixed the pump and cleaned up the place so the smell was less distinct.

Still we were determined to move out when our month ends and thought that it would be the end of the story but sadly it was not…

Second week of our stay they asked if we were staying after our rent ends and we said no, that’s when they started bringing people who were interested to rent our villa. So we had 3 weeks left but visitors were coming almost every day. The feeling was like we lived in a zoo. The situation was very uncomfortable and added a lot of stress to our stay, but they kept bringing people and just didn’t care.
Also, someone reached out and said that when showing the house they told them that they can take a key and enter anyway, if we are not home.

When finally our stay came to an end , we cleaned out the space and asked to get our 10 thousand deposit back ( we even moved out 2 days before the agreed date). And they said point blank no!

They were evasive and didn’t want to talk, Bruce for some reason was asleep and was not available. When we finally got an explanation it was because we “agreed” to stay there long term and since we decided to move out earlier they needed to “apply” an extra charge.

But that was NEVER agreed before, NEVER discussed and NEVER on the table. We stayed for 1 month and paid for it, we didn’t break anything and we want our 10 thousand back but they refused to give it back.

Their attitude was obnoxious and rude, we kept asking and saying that they never told us that the price would be different if we stayed for only 1 month and their response literally was:
“Oh you didn’t know about that? You paid for your ignorance, you lost your 10 thousand”

I can’t even describe how disrespectful their behavior was throughout the process. When we were leaving Bruce laughed like it was amusing to him that there's nothing we could do and he's keeping the money.

This is just beyond words.
I don’t recommend to get involved with them ever.

This is how their villa looks from the outside, they just don't care to keep it neat.

Horrible

Up sides: location. It is a beautiful place, lush and green. Chickens, cats and dogs running around. It's like living on a farm. Very quiet. It could be a true piece of paradise, and it probably was back in the days before covid and before a change of management....

Down sides: Today this is a run down place. The one bedroom house we had was extremely dirty. Not possible to clean cause hadn't been well cleaned for too long. Many cockroaches. I know they are everywhere in Thailand and we have seen them in all our houses but not like here. The house was infested. They were in the bathroom, living room, kitchen, bedroom. (Also our neighbors in the bigger villa next door had the same problem).
Furtinure was old and smelled of cat pee.
The swimming pool wasn't cleaned properly and turned green every couple of days so that we couldn't swim half the time we were there.
The owners didn't return our deposit when we left without a valid reason and even lied to us about an agreement that we never made! Also they charged us with an insanely high electrical bill.
They still think their place is a luxurious resort and deny all complaints.

We are not the only ones having had similar experiences. They have to step up their game and do a big investment in the property (and themselves) or just sell the place. Time to wake up if you want to keep the place alive guys!

Dirty run down and untrustworthy

We spent a couple of months at the resort during our stay in Koh Phangan and absolutely loved it! The surroundings are stunning, the place is peaceful and it's only a couple of minutes ride to the closest beach and a string of delicious restaurants. You can take a walk to a few great eateries, cafés as well ! The management team were adorable and helpful in any possible way. We truly appreciated being so well taken care of and would most definitely return in the future! It was magic

Great place for a long vacation

I absolutely adored this place. The location is just perfect for venturing around the island. Super close to Deli Devi, beach or Sri Thanu. Conveniently close to Thong Sala. I intended to rent a villa for 1 month and ended up staying 5 months in total. It really felt like home. I got stranded on Koh Phangan like many others but I really felt so welcomed by Alain and Bruice that I felt like being part of their family. They were so accommodating to any request I made. I was always welcome in their house. My villa was just perfect for me: beautiful decor and comfy feeling, private but still open into a lush garden with tall coconut trees. The animals in the compound are the sweetest and it broke my heart to say good bye to them. But I am sure I will be back once the situation allows. I definitely come back to Coconut Lane Villas. Thank you so much for everything.

Feels like second home <3

I stayed here and loved it! The atmosphere is calm, the grounds are beautifully designed. The area is very relaxed. The villa I stayed in was well equipped with a nice terrace to rest. I would definitely stay here again.

Great place!

We stayed in l’heure bleue villa for 6 nights and really enjoyed it. The atmosphere around is very peaceful: birds singing, cows walking, dogs running, cicadas are whistling at night. A paradise for nature lovers. The staff is very friendly and helpful, Alain (the owner) was always available to solve all issues. The place itself is really green and lovely. Really loved our stay, will definitely return. Absolutely recommended.

calm relaxation in coconut forest

Located in a lush oasis of green, Coconut Lane Villas is a delightful property. 
Travel to the villas from the jetty by public taxi can be tricky as the address is off the beaten path. Have the directions in the local language handy. 
Isabelle is a superb host. She is warm and helps with all kinds of information about the villa and the island. She also can help with travel and transport bookings. What you get at the villa is exactly what has been explained in the descriptions.
If you need daily villa cleaning, change of sheets and towels you need to pay extra for the service.   
Being a space completely in nature, there are creepy crawlies in the villa and around. The friendly cats and dogs will sit on your patio and the furniture and will beg for food if you're eating outside. 
The bathroom and the toilet are separate entities in each room in the villa. Also, the geyser temperature needs to be controlled by a switch under the bathroom sink. 
All in all the villa is a place of calm and serenity away from the noises of city life. 
If you are looking for a quiet place with an environment friendly host, this villa is the place for you.

Villa with a green heart

We rented two villas for 4 nights. The place is charming, quiet in a very big garden with a nice swimming pool. The villas have good rooms dimensio, plenty of drinking water is provided and the coonditioning is efficient. Isabelle gave us several suggestions for visiting the island, the food (for us the best was the Iranian restaurant) in the area around the villas. She helped us for renting a car at a good price and for a problem with the credit cards. Definitely we recommend.

Charming villas

We visited the Villa and stayed there for almost 2weeks. The villa is so relaxing as it is.The calm nature everytime you woke up in the morning hearing the nAture hum. The pool is very beautiful and i can say isabelle has a very nice concept doing the villa. The host is very helpful,you can asked her anything and she is willing to help you as long as she can.very friendly staff.
