To qualify this, there were multiple factors leading to my switching accommodations, not all of which are directly this hotel's fault or within their control, and the importance of the review is just so people are aware of what they are getting.  It is inexpensive.  It is quaint, cute and quirky.  The courtyard is charming. They were doing some construction.  Not only that but I had travel issues getting in, and tuk tuk issues, and the wifi was down that was causing me issues with planning and route finding. There was also a huge communication issue with me getting into town to do what I wanted to do that night - not sure if it was just a communication error or they were trying to "upgrade" me to a tuk tuk tour I did not want.  It took quite a bit of time to get this worked out and multiple people.  The room was really cute but not quite as clean as I would've liked as far as bed linens and mattress etc.  (I do pull back sheets and check mattresses).  One of the biggest problems was I was uncomfortable with the location. I did not have a scooter and with the location, was not comfortable with doing the bicycle thing.  It was a 15 minute tuk tuk ride from in town near the ferry to this place.  It took 3 tuk tuk drivers to figure out what and where it was.  No one knew it.  When he pulled in we were on the side of a major road that was dusty and busy and I did not see any restaurants or convenient stores or anything near by, and the only option was a 150-200 baht tuk tuk drive to go anywhere every time.  So that plus down WiFi (no way to research anything) was disconcerting.  Also I felt that Ayutthaya is way more spread out than the map lets on.  Things are farther than they seem, and I spoke with a couple of other tourists who were having the same issue.  And one fellow tourist tried to bicycle and had a wreck because he almost had a collision with a car.  I moved to a home stay on the river with an amazing host who made breakfast every morning and was extremely helpful and was much happier.  So if you have your own wheels and are looking for base accommodations or don't mind doing tuk tuks ALL the time or a bicycle aficionado at the very least and don't need much in the way of breakfast/help/service, this place would work fine.  If you need something more centrally located or more service, this isn't the best choice. Also this was only my 3rd night in Thailand and first time solo traveling and first time in Asia at all, although I'm fairly well traveled in general, so it might have been more OK for me later in the trip, however, however thinking back I still don't think I would've been OK with it, the way things went. There are a few simple things that could've made it so that I may have stayed for my entire booking, but it didn't turn out that way.  I paid two nights, Agoda refunded me one, but the hotel itself would not refund any nights, which I am additionally not impressed with. Poor customer service. I crossed the street at the train station since I was overwhelmed with the tuk tuk CF at the train station to get an unbiased 3rd party opinion at the hostel right there, and that man was so much more friendly and helpful and welcoming than the staff at Bouchic. I would recommend that over this - its only a 5 baht ferry onto the island.
