The place is lovely and the historic heritage is an amazing feature. 
Staff was very kind and helpful. 
Breakfast was really good and abundant. 
I didn’t enjoy my room in the sense that I thought it was a bit old and dusty, but there are other rooms that looked more airy and bright, I should have asked for a swap. 
I think that if they would  invest in new linen and towels and in some nice toiletries it could really be a little treasure. Still worth a visit.

Almost a gem

Merci, Céline! We returned to Maison DuBois at an inconvenient time, arriving late one night and departing after the proprietor had begun her own annual holiday, but she knew us and fitted us in - leaving us to lock up on our way to the station. We had Esprit Zen again and the breakfasts were brilliant - although less choice with only us there.

Hope to return again in a couple of years.

We first travelled here in September 2010 and stayed in the "Zen" room.

A fabulous little B&B with the most unique décor.. The dining room is the old watch makers workshop and the bedrooms on different levels of the house, are all decorated to their own style. Everything you could want or need for and more.

Highly recommend staying here if you are in the area.

Quaint and unique

Former watchmakers' home and workshop with many original features still in place, with breakfast in the workshop. Friendly, family-run boarding house. Many restaurants nearby and rail station just around the corner. Amazing food.

The town is a unesco World Heritage because it is the birthplace of the Swiss watch industry and if you can read French there is a lot to learn here, but it is not set up for the international tourist, so there is (enjoyable) work to do to get the most out of it!

The tea and coffee facilities were on the landing and not in the room - not a big problem but not what we're used to! No English spoken.

Friendly and quirky

When I first went to Le Locle I didn't find Maison DuBois on Trip Advisor and didn't check back after my second trip so this is late. But, I traveled to Switzerland with 9 other family members in 2010 and we spent 3 nights at the Maison DuBois - we had the entire place to ourselves. I went back 18 months later with 6 family members.

Each room has a different feel - some are nicer than others, but all of them are great.

There are some very unique aspects to the place - with the old stove in the dining room and the old murals on the wall. There are also several items and photos around that point back to it's history as a watchmakers home.

The breakfast is wonderful and Celine is a great hostess. None of us speak anything other than English which Celine does not really speak but by the 2nd day she remembered who drank coffee and who drank hot chocolate. The breakfast is always full of temptations!

We met family we had not met before and so planned a reunion of sorts and Celine let us use the bed and breakfast for the get together. She did not charge us for this if we bought the wine from her.

I would recommend this for anyone and I can't wait to go back!

Perfect in every way!

It is an unbelievable place to stay and eat lunch.  Food is the same that you would cook at home, or better said:  MUCK BETTER!!  Céline is the best host in the world and really cares that you feel comfortable.  But, the best of the best in this place are the desserts!  You need to come back many times to try them all!  Coffee, tea, and home made ice tea are also available to surprise your taste buds!  Again, I am never tired to come back here!
