It is very close to everything in The Inner City.Very Clean apartment, and nice.

I have stayed at Boende Visby several times and I have always thought that it was ok for a budget hotel. However, during my last stay I woke up in a bed infested with bed bugs. I immediately called one of the owners and he was understanding and apologetic and tried to find a solution. After several hours, I was told I could move to another apartment and they would make sure to have all of my clothes cleaned, dried, and folded at the end of the day (to minimise a potential spread). When I came back from work in the evening, I was greeted by a paper bag containing all of my scrunched up, wet clothes. With no clean and/or dry clothes for work the next day, I checked-out and demanded my money back. Boende Visby agreed to this but their handling of this was horrendous. Booking.com had to get involved, Boende Visby refused to answer my messages, and after 3,5 weeks or angry e-mails, phone calls, and text messages, I finally got my money back.

I would like to believe I am a reasonable person and I understand bed bugs can happen at the best of places. However, I was told by one of the hotel’s staff that they had had the same issue the previous week in the same apartment. So apparently they knew about the bed bugs, did not sanitise the room, rented it out again, and flat-out lied to my face when they told me this had never happened to them before.

As for me, I got between 200 - 300 bites which caused an allergic reaction which needed medical care. I lost valuable work time and sincerely hope you will spend your money elsewhere. Do NOT stay at Boende Visby!

Do NOT stay at this hotel!

This property is in a perfect central location, and although basic, was comfortable enough. Bit noisy at weekend evenings, but to be expected for somewhere so central and near restaurants! Water temp was a bit iffy - switched hot and cold all the time, and limited cooking utensils, but overall clean and comfortable and great for the price, in Visby.

Clean, comfortable, great location

The place is in a horrible condition: the door handle in the bathroom is falling off, the hangers held is upside down, the washbasin was dirty when we arrived and had a bottle of Ajax standing on top of it. The floor is all tiles and is super cold (no carpet), the huge window that is just opposite from the bed has ugly see through curtains. The water in the shower switched from hot to super cold approximately every minute. Wifi didn’t work too, looked like the owner hasn’t paid for it.And pillows were all “crumbled” inside, the filling is all over the place - they are very cheap and probably very old. Do not recommend staying in this place!

Horrible place/Hemsk lägenhet

I was there alone as a prelongation of a business trip. The hotel is not manned so you get your key from a lockbox (you get a code via email). All that went smooth despite my worries. Their communication was friendly. The room was alright. It was spacious but very cold, which was only made worse by the stone floor. The bathroom was especially cold. The kitchen was alright but maybe because i didn’t really cool there and only made tea and coffee. Just by looking at the equipment some of it felt a bit dirty and I wouldn’t have called it “spotless” anyway. Good, but but perfect. For the money, however, it’s ok as it is very central and convenient.

Didnt get basic things like toiletries and kitchen papers despite paying around 900kr per night .apartment is too old in bad shape, damaged walls, ceiling lamps, not too tidy either.Place was stinky, cups and pans had stains from cofee/tea.Didnt even feel like going back to that apartment at the end of the dat.Felt releived after checking out.So wont recommend

Can be very noisy late night due to the restaurant next door

It was a little hard to find, very small sign and there isn't one on the side you come into town from, so you won't see it at first.  And the guy in charge doesn't speak English.  There is no receptionist, there is a key box that I had no idea where was.  Luckily for me, a guy came out from another business by chance and showed me. But... that being said, the property is in an excellent location, just perfect.  The accommodations are plain and simple with a mini kitchen.  So once I found the place, I was very pleased.  Bring your own toiletries.

Things that I didn’t like: Loose, shaky toile seat. Broken toilet seat rim. Dirty vents. Dirty windows. Smell of frying oil. Terrible pillows. Dusty tv (back). Slow communication. Charging too much and not apologising (though repaid).

What really annoyed me: Peep peep peep ound 24/7 from the kitchen (or storage?) behind an emergency exit door every 30 minutes for 30 secs.

The thing I liked: Excellent location.
