The host does everything so that you can feel at home. The rooms are large and clean, some with air conditioning, some without, great value for money and best beach location. I come back anytime with pleasure

Great location, friendly hosts, gladly again

Best location so far tiron was great host he was always smiling and talking with us and we played carom(local game)close to the beach and good kitchen clean nice room we came for 2 nights but end up spending week thank you tiron we will definitely return

We really liked the place very close to beach as name say 100 step give or take tiron is very nice guy he help us to arrange lot of things including scoter and special he was very kind to us during corona situation thank you tiron we felt like home we will be back for sure highly recommended.

Amazing location good staff

If you're looking for a Sri Lankan owned affordable guesthouse this is the place to be! Tiron is the most friendly, smart and helpful host you're likely to encounter. He is the eldest son of a local fisherman who worked himself up and can tell you very interesting stories about Sri Lanka's way of life and past. The rooms are basic but comfortable, all have fans, soms have private showers. There's an outside shower as well for after the surf. One of the great thins about this place is that you can use their kitchen to make your own food and tea. It's located on the north-end of the Weligama Bay in a residential area. At night you can watch the local kids play cricket. The vibe is very friendly and safe. It's a 5 minute walk over the beach past the fisher-boats to the spot where you can surf and a 10-minute walk to the towns centre. I'd recommend renting a scooter (+/- 1000rs per day depending on the season) so you can easily explore the surroundings, Tiron can help you with this. Although I already spend 3 weeks heren, I definitely look forward coming back to this place and spend some more time with Tiron.

Great, affordable and authentic place to stay!

I’ve stayed a week in this guethouse and really liked the atmosphere. The rooms are simple and clean. The owner of the house is very nice and makes sure that everyone feels comfortable! The guesthouse is super close to the beach. I really enjoyed my stay in Weligama Guesthouse and heartly recommand it to other travelers!

Travel

Weligama White House is small family owned, charming, easy-living hotel. It has a nice location very close to the beach, where the fishing boats are/less crowded here. It's a short ride of max 5 min into Weligama Center. And/or it gave us a nice short walk on the beach to get to the surfing rental shops and/or restaurants by the beach. The room was good with own bathroom. The owner of the hotel was service minded and interested in different cultures. He liked to help us organize with transfer and advised us what to see/to do in Sri Lanka. Very estimated. They serve breakfast upon request which was perfect for us as our days looked different. The kitchen at hotel was open for everyone to use. I really recommend to stay here if you like small hotels.

A charming small hotel near the beach

We Came to Whıte house for only two nıght stay but we end up spending two weeks there. 
Very close to the beach and city center. Helpful owner they arrange anything you ask for. Rooms were clean with hot water great food highly recommend banana pancake. 
We definitely would stay there when we come back. 
Highly recommended.
