We absolutely loved our time at Nimsara, so much we ended up extending. The rooms have everything you need with hot showers, and the location is fantastic with a short walk to the high street. What made it so amazing was the lovely host family who really go above and beyond. Every morning over a lovely homemade Sri Lankan breakfast the host gave us recommendations to help plan our days. He also helped with onward travel and gave us great advice on how to use public transport. The cooking class in their family home is a must do if you are staying at Nimsara. We made 4 curries and a sambal from scratch, the teaching was so good we definitely feel we can replicate it at home. Choose this homestay for your trip to Ella!

Great family homestay and amazing cooking class

Great location, walking distance to Ella town and all the shops and restaurants.
Unfortunately I fell sick with the flu as soon as I arrived and the owners of the homestay went above and beyond! They really looked after me as if I was a member of their family, bringing me soups and all kind of healing remedies they could offer. I had a great time even if I was unwell and when I felt better, the owner took me for a tuk tuk trip to see the things I couldn’t see. Amazing homestay experience and I will bring them in my heart forever! Thank you!!! ❤️🙏

Amazing Homestay Experience!

This was one of the nices places that we’ve been while traveling. The family is very warm and nice. Tharanga’s wife gave me VEGAN cooking classes in their kitchen and it was pretty awesome. They took us to the train station by tuktuk.

Amazing place with great location and the best and nicest hosts, who went out of their way to make our stay special. Rooms are nice and clean with hot water. I also highly recommend taking their cooking class - great experience and amazing food.

Great place in Ella

Such a wonderful experience! Kind and loving family. Authentic and local hospitality with amazing food. They will explain and support everything you wish to do in Ella and the surrounding. We enjoyed an intimate dinner in the nimsara's family house with the other guests.

Tarnga and his family was soo nice, they helped us with every thong we needed and more, could'nt ask for a better expirience, the food was amazing and the location is great!!

The best stay we could have asked, incredible

The cooking class was absolutely incredible. We got to choose 4 curries to make and roti and it's definitely an unforgettable experience. If you're thinking of doing a cooking class, do it here, it's also the best value for money one we could find.

The perfect home stay in ella!

The stay at Nimsara was exceptional!!! 
From the first moment we were greeted with a smile on their faces. They offered us coffee and typical rice with milk that they had made that day.
 They helped us a lot with a problem we had with the train and they cared until the end. 
The room was very clean and very comfortable. Hot water and fan. We had everything we needed to be very comfortable. 
In the morning they served us a very good typical breakfast there with bananas from their house. 
The family is lovely, especially the daughter. I was on vacation at home and we had very interesting conversations. 
Everything was amazing!!!! Without a doubt when I return to Ella I will stay again! 😍❤️🥰

Spectacular experience in Ella

Liked it · good accommodation option. We lived here for 2 weeks. I really liked the atmosphere and the family we lived with. Very kind, sympathetic people. All the time they were treated to various traditional sweets. We quickly resolved all the issues that we had. On the last day, the owner of the guest house took us to the entrance to Ella and put us on a bus to Matara so that we could get on the bus. (the bus to Matara is passing. Keep this in mind when you plan your route.) The head of the family knows the local sights very well and has a tuk-tuk. With great pleasure he will be able to show you the beautiful places in Ella. he will tell you what is worth visiting in Sri Lanka. Very low price and very cozy room. there is something to compare it with.We have been traveling in different places in Sri Lanka for 2.5 months. Our room looked much better than in the photos. The guest house really has the best location. Near cafes and restaurants, railway station, shops and the beginning of routes to the 9th arch bridge and the small Adam Peak. There is hot water and good Wi-Fi. We will definitely come back and stay here again. We recommend this accommodation option. Thank you so much for your warmth and hospitality!
