Surf & Turf

Overall we had a really great time at Surf & Turf! We were there on low season and therefore didn’t really know what to expect at first but it turned out to be the best decision ever. The room was beautiful and clean, with a nice terrace. From the first day on, Rasool the manager of the hotel gave us good advice on what to do, cleaned up the beach bar for us (even though it was closed we could still go there) and we spent some really nice time with him and his friends. Arugam bay itself was quite empty due to low season, of course many restaurants and shops were closed but we actually had a really great time and were happy to avoid big crowds and still found enough open places and things to do. We had the possibility to do several activities organized by Rasool at a very reasonable price: tuktuk safari, surfing with Kutty (the great surf instructor of Surf & Turf, we loved his surf courses), etc. Regarding surfing, we weren’t sure if it would be possible to go surf at first since we travelled there during low season, but for us as beginners it actually worked very well as there were several days with good smaller waves which allowed us to learn the basics. Everyone at Surf & Turf was always really nice to us and we really enjoyed spending time with all of them - in fact we would have liked to stay longer and we already miss everyone! If you want to spend a few days in a really nice and relaxing environment, with really cool people and lots of nature to discover, go to Arugam bay.
