One of the coziest places we visited in our Camino del Norte. From a great hospitality to delicious homemade food made our staying in Casa Rural El Caldero an enjoyable experience. The owner always showed a flexible attitude that made us feel welcomed. The bedroom was clean with a confy bed. The outside area was tranquil  surrounded by nature. 
 

Nature + tranquility = Gran Estancia

Whilst walking the Camino, I stayed a night in this peaceful farmhouse (it is signposted and just a few hundred metres off the path). My room and bathroom were fine and there is a spacious sun terrace. I was very much made to feel at home. What made the stay so special was the owner’s home cooking: an excellent and very substantial four-course dinner and then a very generous spread for breakfast. A memorable stay.

Wonderful Asturian home-cooking

We did the Camino Primitivo but started in Villaviciosa. We stayed the first night at Casa El Calero. We were meet by the Landlady a very kind and friendly woman who showed us a nice and clean room wit at beautyfull view over the landscape. We had a very pleasent stay and enjoyed a nice homecooked meal from Asturia made with love.
We will be back.

Quiet and beautyfull - landlig idyl

This was amazing, a real feel for the country of Spain.  The food was the best food I had in 10 days on my trip, the family was wonderful and so nice.  My room was great with a great view, and I really felt like home in Spain.  This was my favorite night.

Camino Overnight

It was lovely to arrive at Casa Rural El Calero after a long day walking the Camino. The host provided a delicious (and generous) dinner and breakfast. I fell asleep to the sound of cow bells. My stay was peaceful and restful and I greatly appreciated the generosity of the host.

Tranquil stay

Beleis was outstanding, picking us up in Vega after a long walk on the Camino, she made us welcome. Dinner was offered and it was delicious. The lovely surprise was she offered to do our Laundry (5 euro) we needed to get on the road early next day and she had breakfast ready at 7.30am cooking a local Churro dish with syrup. We loved our stay at Casa Rural El Calero thank you Beleis .

Best Stay with Beleis

I stayed with this delightful couple full of love and welcome and incredibly hard working.  Beautiful home cooked food and huge effort made with sauces and accompaniments as well as excellent wine or cider.  If you don’t have a large appetite say so as meals are large!
Rooms are vibrant colours and it is quiet staying here, apart from the sound of cowbells in the field.  A majestic black bull with cows and calves plus cats and kittens and a dog make this a really rural experience and good fun.  Laundry is done for you as well for a good price.  Walking the Pilgrimage on the Camino Del Norte, I especially enjoyed this beautiful place and the kind owners.  Don’t stay here if you expect a hotel, it’s a Casa Rural.

Rural repose

Last weekend we were guest from this Rural house where definitely we don't recommend 
to anyone, and where we won't come back in the future,  basically because Belen, 
the owner, was not showing profesionalism and was very rude in some moments during our stay, 
even insinuating we were cheating her, when she was the ones sent us some mails with different room rates.

That's point 1, point 2 is the quality of breakfast announced that doesnt match the price 8e where you really don't  get 
a home made breakfast, just "Hacendado/Mercadona" supermarket products you can have at home, and that really 
it's not worth it, neither cupcakes or jam was homemade.

Third, but not last, room status, at least ours. I'm going to upload pictures where you can appreciate spider web behind the TV
and mold stain on the room and bathroom roof over the shower.

Sometimes she provides you some help for restaurants or activities, gentiles actions, BUT she shows  you she is doing you a favour instead.

Last is her answer when you post a critical review on any social network, she use WhatsApp and your personal phone to criticize your opinion.

Definitively a pitty check the true under some fake pictures and publicity.
At least neither our small Yorky or us were attacked by fleas, other guests told us they had to urgently take their dog to a vet 
because it was completely infected by fleas, even though they had it protected, 
seems Belen didnt give too much importance to that fact, that basically could also ruin your holidays if you dog, 
and you car is full of fleas.
