No payment by card. No Wifi in the room. No breakfast before 8:00. Dog barking at night.

Medium reception

Location and antique ambiance of the property was excellent. So was the staff. Amenities are limited. We recommend the inclusion of refrigerator in the room.

The entry door to the lobby/ eating area was locked when we arrived @ 7:15 pm.The clerk was not able to speak English ( forgivable) He did not give us a remote for the TV & left. We found the remote ourselves later at the reception desk. No cable or satellite. TV was about a 20". Bedspread was dirty. The window was tricky and over the headboard end of the bed and only one side opened but only 90 degrees so needed to be closed while in bed to avoid hitting my head when getting up. The cleaning lady was the only one to ask for a cup of coffee in the morning and it took her about 10 minutes. The clerk came in after we finished the coffee to collect 1.25€ for each coffee. No restaurants nearby.If using a satnav to find the hotel, make sure the maps are updated* as the second to last road before the hotel's road is closed.    *mine was not, so had to figure out another route.

We booked into this accommodation as there was very little available due to Public Holidays. It has secure parking. The garden is rather uncared for. Met at reception by a rather dour man. Very little interaction verbally just handed TV remote, gate/door fob & room key after showing our passports. An isolated premises, serving no refreshments what so ever. Dated decor. Couldn't wait to leave!

Basic accommodation

This place clearly divides opinion!  On the plus side, it is secure, has private parking and the bed was pretty comfortable.  However, the goth decor (deep purple throughout!) will certainly not be to everyone's taste and I agree with other reviewers that the house is pretty noisy.  Worst aspect was breakfast. A single cup of coffee, oddly unpleasant toast and a slice of cake.  That was it.  For a one night stay, it was tolerable but I suspect it might quickly have become quite oppressive had we stayed longer.  We wouldn't go back.

Quirky

Hotel is outside Santander with nothing in the neighborhood.
Rooms are clean but noisy. It is a pity that this was not mentioned in the overview. Breakfast very simple and nothing to do after hours. Price to expensive for this hotel. Maybe good when you are on travel just for one night

Holiday trip

Stayed here last night pre ferry trip home, looks fine nice room with balcony, old fashioned style and building, comfy bed, that's the good bit! 
It has to be one of the worst nights I've ever spent, you can hear every movement through the floor,ceiling, walls, of the other guests, going to the toilet etc.  Apart from that it's the only room in the last 2 weeks travelling in Spain that has mosquitos!
