Never visited Gran Canaria before, found this hotel and it looked just the right place for my husband and our friends, adults only tranquil perfect! 
The hotel is located at the top of a very steep hill ( clue in the name of the hotel) we went all inclusive and found that the buffet style meals were fab and great selection for breakfast lunch and evening meal! We had two one bedroom apartments sea view these were great size rooms. Very clean and tidy and a big balcony to sit and relax or sunbath. 
Once you find your bearings the hotel is easy to navigate.. 
Now the staff…. What can I say super friendly big shout out  to Lucy life and soul and chatty welcoming (misses  Yorkshire tea so if you go take a box) and also Gabrielle clearly loves his job  and umberto fabulous customer service from all the staff but these guys are memorable! Will def recommend this hotel to friends and family it’s superb 😄

Just what was needed

Stayed at Ocean Hill for 12 nights. Had a nice stay. 
Room ok with a kitchenette adequate to cook basic meals. Beds a little hard but I guess that is down to personal preference. 
Bathroom ok a little tired looking and in need of some bleach to kill the mould around the shower area.  Big problem with the hot water coming through one minute cold the next scalding hot. 
Ocean Hill is on a very big hill and as other reviews state. Not for the unfit. A shuttle bus to beach/ Puerto Rico would be a great idea however plenty of taxis are available. 
Plenty of sun-beds around the pool area. 
A few minutes walk to the local shopping centre with a fair choice of restaurants. 
Staff here I found weren’t so friendly.  No late checkout room even though hotel was not at full capacity. A shame as willing to pay the supplement. 
We went self catering so cannot comment on the food. 
Also in peak times the lack of lifts were a bit of a pain waiting around for one.

However bearing in mind it is a 2 star hotel, overall it is fairly priced budget hotel.

Pleasant stay

Went with a friend, wanting to relax and chill out. Which is exactly what we did. The hotel was exceptionally clean.  The staff are all lovely, helpful and polite. Our room was very clean as was the balcony.
Had 2 trips out: boat to Puerto del mogan market, what a lovely place to visit, very picturesque.
Went on a jeep safari, way up in the mountains, our guide was very knowledgeable. Both we found very enjoyable.
We were all inclusive, food very varied. I remember one night, I didn't want any meat on offer, so I was asked if I would like plain grilled chicken. The chef cooked some for me. Thought that was a nice touch. 
The only downfall was the view from my balcony, unfortunately we had the lift and walkway interfering with our view.
Apart from that 1 thing, we had a very relaxing time.

Relaxing

Incredibly good hotel, top level in everything! Room, food and staff. Can highly recommend this hotel. Slopes to the sea provide good exercise, if you like it.

Pros:

This is a hotel with potential. Great views, good sized rooms with large balconies and various kitchen equipment (kettle/coffee maker/toaster/microwave/fridge). Comfy beds and excellent maid service. Parking provided. 

Cons:
Wifi is patchy at best. A general bad drain smell and badly draining showers (flooding bathroom on this stay but have also had issues before here). No recycling option for the rubbish. Limited storage in the room. 

Cannot comment on food or drink as we are self catering.

Great potential and could be better

Very steep steps on arrival no help offered with cases very steep car park so had no option but to carry suitcases down the steps. Very little info given on arrival as to directions of your room people hunting around with their luggage . Hardly any entertainment and had to sit outside at the pool bar ( freezing ) no where inside to get a drink it was outside or back to your room. Hotel was very clean and well maintained food was good friendly staff but won't be returning 

An honest opinion 

The staff are always happy to help you and go the extra mile to make your holiday special. 
The rooms are always kept clean and the meals are excellent. We got the all inclusive package and we were more than satisfied. 
We had a wonderful holiday and will definitely go there again in the future. 

Amazing 

Fabulous holiday great location the weather was perfect sunshine and blue sky every day. Terrific restaurants at the Europa Centre great value and fantastic food highly recommended. Good flights with Jet2 and a very helpful hotel

Endless sunshine

Terrible don’t book if you have mobility problems you get drop off on the side of a road with no one to meet you then get told by the bus driver it’s down there 😱two flights of stairs to reception but that’s only the start two lifts and many more flights of stairs later we get to our room hot having NOT been offered a drink . To find there’s NO phone in room so we have to do that trip again as our room had no water or towels 😡but that’s only the start of our hols let’s get changed get to find food an drink 🏃well the food was so bad .the same things were served at every meal tinned or frozen nothing fresh apart from salad so if you like chips an pizza 🍕( frozen mind ) then your ok but it’s not for me we made the mistake of going all inclusive BIG mistake we payed so much in taxis an restaurants as after 2 days of eating here we was bored 🥱 same old thing lunch an dinner an not good things it’s a big NO TO A RETURN hope this helps you

Having arrived and dumped on the roadside, had to walk down a steep incline to reception. Once checked in we were given a map to find our room. 3 corridors 3 lifts and a steep hill later we finally arrived at our room. The apartment was very clean and spacious apart from the plunge pool which obviously hadn't been cleaned for some time the amount of dead flies and insects floating on the top. We cleaned it ourselves not wanting to treack back to reception.
We had noise from the building work from 8am to 6pm Monday to Saturday which we didn't appreciate.
The hotel is at the top of a very steep hill 2 kilometres down and up.
Nothing much around there apart from the Europa Centre which is awful. We had to spend a lot of money on taxis.
All in all would most definitely not recommend this hotel and if you have any mobility issues definitely a no no.
