Casa De Huespedes Lemus

So we booked this hotel for a one night stay in Madrid (date night) because the location was spot on (being a gay couple, we wanted to spend the night in Chueca). My partner lost his passport at the airport - put his man bag down and walked off, realising within 30 seconds, running back but it had gone. No sign at the left luggage office, so he was stuck. We decide to make the most of the night and check in to the hotel - what a lovely place it is. Clearly all rooms have now been refurbished - and to a really high standard. The rooms are all nice and simple but everything is brand new. I left the next day on our planned flight but my partner stayed an additional two nights to get to the embassy and collect an emergency travel document. The hotel, and especially Claudia the receptionist, were so helpful, they booked my partner an extra two nights (in two other rooms - all three of the rooms he stayed in were of the same immaculate standard). This was at the start of February 2020 - so please don't judge this hotel by the older reviews. This place is amazing, the receptionists are really helpful, and we will definitely be back for another date night in Chueca, staying here. The bathrooms are shared and immaculately clean, clearly cleaned several times a day, and all done to a high standard - very modern decor, lovely rooms - basic furniture like a metal frame wardrobe/rack but all very cute and cosy, and again perfectly clean and stylish. It's by a long margin the best hotel I've stayed in in a european city centre for this sort of budget. And the staff are so nice and helpful, even getting his new room ready before check in, so he didn't have to leave and come back for the extra nights booked at short notice. Another bonus - you get a front door key onto the street, so can come and go as you please even into the early hours. Some other pension type hotels have curfews but not this one. The hotel is brilliant - well done!
