Palacio Real

This place was an amazing find. This property consists of only 7 suites right in front of the Palace. The view out the window is of the Palace and the park in front of it. The rooms are large and newly redecorated. And not expensive. Wifi works great, never had a problem. Mihaela in reception is extremely helpful with explanations of the property and things to do in the area. And there are endless things to do. Some of the best museums in the world are within walking distance as are many smaller museums and, of course, many churches. Cafe las Chinitas, where one can have dinner and see some fabulous flamenco, is also a short walk away and a must if you like flamenco. (The meal is not great and you can save some money by just going for the show.) The restaurants right around the Plaza de Oriente are very nice but a bit pricey. If you are willing to walk a few blocks away there are more reasonable places, still quite nice with tablecloths, attentive waiters and good food. A bit farther is the Latin Quarter with even more choices. It's worth the walk, since the places are a bit nicer and cheaper.
