It was a very good stay, we didn't really stayed in the hostel (only went there for sleeping - we were in a 8 bed room), but the staff was very nice and helpful, and everything was clean and it had a nice atmosphere.:)

Awesome for young people!

The room was almost clean but in hostel was constantly noise. The lift was old and noisy.The breakfast was good but every day we have the same foods. The bathroom was avarage. The stuff was helpfuland nice. They help us when we need advice about transport or something else.

Nice staff

Really disappointed in this place. Apart from the amazing location that's all I can rave about. No wifi in the rooms (????) bathrooms are very old and there is no place to change afterwards, the only privacy you have is behind a tiny curtain of the shower cubicle. Water in shower switches off every 15 seconds so you constantly have to press the button to make the water run, also same in toilet you have to keep turning light on as it turns off automatically after 15 seconds. Lockers you need a €2 coin to constantly get into otherwise your locker is unlocked. Rooms are ok. I know this is Barcelona but I've paid much less for some wonderful hostels and this one is not up to standard. 

Worst so far

"Center  Rambles" hostel situated on "Hospital " street,63 Ciutat vella.is jusr walking distance from La Rambla street .Breakfast was at 0800 hrs in the hostel ground floor mess which was free with the charges included in the hostel rental.Excellent breakfast and it was a houseful crowd.The Hostel dormitories and toilets were well maintained and the free WiFi excellent. The Hostel also has 2 free desk top internet computers.Liceu station is walking distance from the hostel. Worth the rentals they charge.

Center Rambles Youth Hostel

The hostel has logistical and planning shortcomings within the management team.

We booked as one booking for 2 people for 3 nights. (3 weeks in advance).

When we checked in we were told we would have to move rooms the next day. Why? "Because we have a group and they want to be in one room"

Unfortunately as we were going out at 11am this involved waking up at 9am, getting ready, packing all of our bags (waking up other guests) and vacating the room (checking out), we then had to leave our luggage in storage until we returned in the evening, we then had to check into a new room and unpack and re settle in.

When we decided to complain to Vanessa the manager, she blamed the other staff members, complained that managing 200 rooms was "difficult" and took no responsibility for the hostels poor room planning.
She was not very helpful in the slightest, no offer of a discount or resolution or even a suggestion that our comments were taken on board.

Collectively we have stayed in over 50 hostels and this is not something previously experienced  

I'd be very worried if anything else went wrong in this hostel as to the managements competency to correct it satisfactorily.

After talking to other guests, making you move rooms is worryingly normal practice in this hostel.
