A fantastic rural hotel 2 miles outside Arenas. Perfect for exploring the amazing Sierra  de Gredos.  Room basic but clean and comfortable. Excellent dinner, best steak I had in Spain this trip. Highly recommended.
Only further comment. Could do with some maps of the local area for guests.

A Real Gem

Really cosy hotel with simple rooms but great atmosphere. In the middle of nature with an amazing garden and perfect starting point for any activity in Gredos. Hosts are extremely welcoming. Breakfast and dinner are perfect. Place to come back to!!

Cosy and wonderful

This property is located up a track about 7-8 minutes drive from Candeleda and around 15 minutes from Las Arenas de San Pedro. The buildings are set in very pretty private grounds, with plenty of seating areas around the site (although the verandah of the main building is as nice as anywhere). The hotel wasn't full when we were there, but even if it had been it would have been easy to find somewhere to relax away from anyone else.

Ramon and Ana are very friendly and welcoming hosts, and speak very good English. We appreciated that they contacted us via Whatsapp on the morning of our arrival to ask what time they should expect us, and we were told we could contact them at any time.

Be aware that they have two huge dogs, who are a bit scary-looking and do approach visitors and bark occasionally, but they seem pretty harmless once they get used to you (and you to them!).

As mentioned by someone else, dinner isn't served until 9pm (although on one evening when we were the only guests we did eat a little earlier because the food was ready). The portions are very generous and tasty. We decided to have supper in Candeleda one evening, thinking we could eat a little earlier, but even there the restaurants weren't serving before 8.30pm - that's just how it is in Spain.

Our room was a bit dark, but no big deal, and while the wardrobe was spacious, drawers were limited to the bedside tables. 

There's good, free wifi throughout the property.

There are a few nice walks from and around the hotel, and the Cuevas de las Aguilas are definitely worth a visit.

If we're ever in this part of Spain again we'd be very happy to stay here again.

A beautiful, tranquil setting

This is great for relaxing and being out of the way. Rooms are charming and the hosts are really helpful and friendly. If you are eating there be aware that the restaurant only starts serving at 2100 hours. Not a problem for us but I would suspect this would surprise some visitors. Large choice of holistic treatments so try one! We stayed for three nights and would definitely go back.

Just Wonderful

A gem of a place perfect for relaxing, letting go of all your negativity and communing with yourself.  Three hectares of land, lovely swimming pool,  peaceful surroundings.  Warm welcome and considerate staff.  Theraputic and beauty massage if desired.  Center for recharging your energy.  Highly therapeutic.  Good home cooked food.  Plan to go back in winter.

Little piece of paradise on earth

A magical place, expertly run by María Castejón. The perfect place to disconnect from the outside world, enjoy the beautiful gardens, stroll by the river which borders the 300,000 square feet the hotel-spa is located in. The size of the grounds and the small number of rooms make for a very intimate atmosphere where you quickly meet all the guests and still have plenty of space for yourselves. Wonderful spa with products made by María herself.  Just 2 hours from Madrid. Highly recommended! We intend to return as soon as we have a free weekend.
