What a dissapointing breakfast. Half a crusty roll with your choice of ham n cheese or ham and cheese. not kept under good cover. And she gave me the smallest one!! I'm 6ft and hungry. Its Just like a school cafe, with only 6 people staying in the hotel for breakfast, I knew this because there was only 6 plates out. The cafe staff don't speak a word of English.  They stand and chat amongst themselves, doing nothing , then expect you to clear away your own tray. Get off your lazy *** and walk over here to collect it, I'm paying. If you get up to go without taking your tray they shout over to you to collect it! I figured if i sit nearer the door i was able to slip out before they could ask me to do their job.  I wonder if they will be working tomorrow and inform me of my 'mistake!' There could have been some fruit or cereal or a choice of tea not just coffee. A good few cartons of juice was nice.  If you think breakfast is the most important meal of the day dont bother with it at this place. Bread ham n cheese is for lunch. 

 There was a lady at the front desk who was excellent, she spoke enough English to understand me well. She got me a second pillow for my uncomfortable bed. Which I why this place got bumped up to a  2 rating. A Wonderful and valid member of staff.  Its clean, The room was ample. But if your a 'large' person youre not going to fit in the shower! But that would make a great photo, "when it fits, it fits!" I could hear the people in the next room talking. I wish they thought to put us a room apart. It's not like they didn't have any available. Good air conditioning with 4 settings. But hey, for the price it's OK.  The complex is huge, giving it a style of excellence (for photos I guess). But it's not needed. Anyway, that 1 staff member at the front desk made it so much better. The cafe staff need training in customer services. Unless they get paid nothing, they should put more effort in. Only need one lady there, unless it's important for them to have company, they have a lot finish chatting about before they serve you. 

It's situated on a main road (traffic noise) with a supermarket just 3 blocks down. It's a good 43mins walk to the beach. Once youre off the main roads you have a lovely and I mean lovely walk down through some massive trees and grounds all kept immaculate. Watch out for traffic, they don't slow down if you make a mistake. Great WiFi,  I could stream films no problem.

La florida hostal/hotel

I had my own room with a private bathroom for 2 nights with enough privacy and space to reorganise my luggage. I was a bit surprised at how little English the staff at reception spoke, but most of them were still eager to help. The hostel is well-connected - there are several buses going to the city, train station, and bus station. The room had air conditioning, which was a big relief in the summer heat. The breakfast was included, which was a bread roll with a choice of ham and cheese (I combined it with the tomato sauce and olive oil) or jam and butter, tea, coffee, juice. If you're on a budget and traveling solo, this place is perfect!

Perfect place to stay for solo student traveler

It is a good accomodation if you visit Alicante a few days. You can reach easy the city center and the beach with the bus nr. 03. Cheap and good! I was alone on holiday, I enjoyed it. But pay attention, the buses go only until 22.30. So later you need walking cca 35-40 min from Plaza del Mar.
