What was good

The hotel was a nice looking "5 star" type of hotel - Nothing special about it or anything that makes it standing out on a world standard. I felt it was more a 3-4 star place.

What was bad

We were disappointed in a few things. The first thing was our room. On checking in, I spoke to the gentleman at the counter and chatted to him, mentioned that we are here for our wedding anniversary (which I mentioned in the booking a few months earlier as well), and looking forward to spending it at this hotel. When we got to our room, even though I booked a Queen/King room for us, we were given a room with two single beds in it! I immediately went down to reception, and told them my issue and that it was not appropriate and I want the room I prepaid for. They had no spare rooms free for that night, with the promise of moving us the following day for the remining 2 nights into a room with a double bed. I tried and tried, but they were apparently fully booked and we had to have the room with two single beds the first night. What also annoyed me greatly was that when I was going through this issue with the checking in staff, it seemed like that they didn’t care – No empathy was shown at all, and it was like I was an inconvenience to them. And no other was made to compensate the problem and our missing out of paying for the privilege of a double room for the first night – Not even a free breakfast or room credit – Unbelievable. I know other hotels brands in the world, at least own the problem, realising their error and compensate for it. Once again, we felt that they didn’t care. Also, the Pool was closed as well, so another inconvenience as the weather was nice and it would have been great to have a swim in the sun.
