Gostiny dvor Zuevsky

Not every hotel gets everything right: Gostiny Dvor Zuevsky is the one that does! Designed in a style of a Russian stately home, with a marble staircase, lush plants and tastefully decorated lounge areas, it immediately exceeds the three star expectation. Rooms are immaculate, with thoughtful decor, crispy white bed linen, superb shower, bathrobes and slippers, mini-fridge and a complimentary bottle of water, soundproof and double glazed. The restaurant serves a variety of Russian and European cuisine for dinner and a reasonable breakfast. The staff is friendly and helpful. It is not in a most thrilling part of the town though (if there is one), so make sure you bring a good book to read either in your room or in the courtyard enjoying the sound of the fountain. With a gym and room service it would immediately become a solid 4 star stay.
