Great place just out of the city centre, very good value for money

Quality is absolutely good for the price you are paying for this pension. To my opinion it's same quality as a hotel level. It's good and clean with a comfortable bathroom. Breakfast is not included in the price, but you pay only 20 RON (+/- 4,- euro pp) for it, and is also of a high standard with a lovely smiling and friendly lady filling up all the time !!

Great personnel at front desk. Large spacious quiet rooms. The place can be a bit updated, but for the purpose of our trip it was great.

Good stay not far from downtown

SERVICE : GoodThe receptionist was extremely nice. The hotel has a system to order taxis that is very efficient. RECEPTION : There is a very visible trace of a leak on the ceiling at reception. There is no luggage room, you leave your luggage in the breakfast room, which is strange. ROOM : The room was spacious (especially the bathroom). It has been partly refurbished : the furniture is obviously new, but they kept the old carpet and didn't repaint the damaged walls. The heater hasn't been cleaned or hoovered in years, it was full of dust.The worst part was the bathroom : it has obviously been done up recently, but the walls and ceiling are covered in mold. There is even mold on the wall under the hanger meant for the towels. The door of the shower cubicle is too small for the space it has to cover so there is a large part left open. In the brand new shower cubicle, to put your shampoo and soap, they left an old and very rusty shelf positioned too high.There is no shower hose, only a shower head that cannot be moved to better rise one's body. SITUATION : far from everything by foot/tramway (the tram's a 10 minute walk away), but you can go anywhere very quickly by taxi.

You get what you pay for - Needs a repaint

We stayed at the Schwartz pension for Cluj-Napoca marathon and I can say it offers a great price/quality ratio. While it is some 2km from the city center it is in a quiet neighbourhood so you can get a good sleep. But keep in mind you'll have to walk to the center or use the public transport system. The furniture is pretty nice (above what you pay for) and breakfast is decent for the price.

I have  been saying  several days  there.. and  in my staying the have move me at least 3 times  in three deferents rooms  .. there are rooms  that are very nice  I can recommend room 25  very big  and very cozy also  room  number  5 ..  the  girls  that are  in the front desk are nice  and servicial this  should be  an hotel  but  they prefer to  call  pension . 
Breakfast is  good  for the price  you pay  the only  thing is you have  to advice one  day in advance   and the price  30 euros  by room  for that  quality i  ok  better  than  the  ibis or  other hotels  you pay more  by  night  .

Nice  and cozy

What I didn't like: -The front door was locked at night and we had to call (and wake up) the receptionist to enter when we arrived later. 
-The room was getting pretty warm during the afternoon, but we did NOT receive the remote for the AC. We asked the receptionists 3 days in a row, but they kept telling us excuses (the AC is new and the remotes did not arrive yet/ the remotes are locked in a storage room and they don't have the key etc.), so we just gave up... 
-The toilet seat was really old and used and looked dirty (I am not sure it was actually dirty or just looked so because it was so old). I also found hair on it when we arrived... 
-The shower cabin door was hard to close properly, so a puddle of water formed, as there was no drain on the floor. The result: the water passed through the floor and was dripping in the reception hallway, so the receptionist came at our door at 1 AM to fix it. Also, on our last day, the repairman woke us up in the morning to check on the shower door. 
-The bed sheet was too small and it would gather in the middle of the bed during the night, so I mostly slept directly on the mattress. Also my pillow was very small. 
-The room was noisy: our window was above the neighbors' yard and we could hear everything they were talking (they also had a kid and a dog so no chance to rest in the afternoon). Also, there was a lot of noise on the hallway in the morning (so no chance to sleep later in the mornings either). 
-The restaurant food was not good. 

What I liked: Big room and bathroom, nicely decorated, mini fridge in the room, reception staff was friendly.

Nicely looking decor, but the comfort rests in the details and our stay was not very comfortable.

I strongly advise you not to go to this Pension. (2* rooms)
1. No warm water for shower. This happened to most of the rooms our group was having. !!!
2. TV is very old and it doesn't have a large variety of channels. 
3. No minifridge in our room although other rooms have.
4. The rooms are strangely placed. One of the rooms has the bathroom window leading to the hallway so everyone who s taller can see what's inside. The others have windows that open to a bar. You can"t actually rest until 12 when the bar closes because of the noise. Also, the windows are old so they can't provide any protection against noise and they barely close.
5. All the furniture, the bed sheets and towels looked unkempt.
      I've been to other 2* B&B's and they looked more neat.  I will update my post with pictures. 

Worst experience ever

We were on a family vacation booking 8 rooms for 3 nights on June 23.
Reviews and pictures on different sites looked good but in reality the "hotel" if you can even call that this way was entirely horror.
as you can see in the attached pictures the carpets were stained, matresses had liquid stains (the smell could only lead us to think it was pee), broken furniture and some of the windows had literally blocks of cement outside looking like a prison from inside, mold and bad smells all over the corridors between the rooms not to mention the train that passes by (literally 5 meters away from the rooms) every few hours in the night.

We asked the manager to refund us since this wasn't hospitable and he agreed to refund us for two nights since it was already late at night and he could not rebook it, we agreed and left the hotel to a one that could accomodate human beings, but the money was never returned to us.

I never write bad reviews to places, but this just left such a bad taste I had to.

Unhospitable

In June of this year, my whole family came to this hotel. We pre-booked 8 rooms in the hotel.
All the rooms we got were unfit to stay. The rooms were dirty, nasty stains on the carpets. The sheets were not clean and some of the rooms had urine stains on the mattresses and sheets.
In my room the window was blocked by an ugly concrete wall and there was some kind of animal excrement on the window sill. The window and bars were very dirty.
I am attaching pictures of everything I have described here. The photos that the hotel included in Booking.com are incorrect and do not correspond to reality.
We all felt that we could not stay in this hotel. And we decided to move to another hotel.
The hotel owner promised to refund us the money for two nights and also another 200 euros paid for breakfasts. Unfortunately the owner of the hotel lied and is still unwilling to return the money we paid him.
I recommend you stay away from this hotel. Not clean and not reliable.
