Casa da Adoa is a lovely little B & B place in Portinho da Arriba,  approx 35 km south of Lisbon and only to be reached by car.
Rooms are nice and well appointed and breakfast is served outside on the patio, all taken care off and managed by Miguel.
For lunch and dinner, there are a couple of nice (fish) restaurants within 100 meters from Casa da Adoa.
A nice and quite sandy beach is located at approx. 5 minutes walk along a sandy coastal path.
Nature is nearby and during the evening hours, the entry gates had to be closed quickly  by Miguel, because a family of 3 wild boar walked by, obviously eyeing the green vegetation in the garden of the B&B
Great peaceful place and very much can recommend to stay there.

A little jewel off the beaten path

Fantastic B&B, right next to the perfect beach -- in an unspoilt tiny hamlet of holiday homes and fish restaurants. Not the easiest place to get to, but that is probably why Portinho da Arrabida has stayed the way it was -- also because it is in a nature reserve. A lovely 200-year-old house with ensuite rooms with traditional decor. Sea views, friendly, helpful host, great continental breakfasts on the patio. Great that there are no shops, but also means you have to remember to bring what you need -- such as sunscreen (I forgot). Have a peaceful time in the breathtaking natural beauty, finding your way through the wild rosemary and olive trees to neighbouring beaches.

Hard to find such a beautiful, non-commercial, relaxing place

I have stayed twice in Casa da Adoa, the first time a couple of years back and now again, for 3 nights/4 days for a car free long weekend in Portinho da Arrábida. 

Portinho is small, basically a couple of cafés and restaurants, and of course the beach. All walkable, even with children. 

Casa da Adoa is super central. It has a couple of options, and we chose the bedroom with balcony. It is rustic, but very clean, with everything you might need, 

Just take with you some water, sunscreen, snacks (?), and beware that there are days were all restaurants close at the same time at night (and they don't serve meals at Casa da Adoa, only a very good breakfast). No shops in sight (perfect!). 

We had to dine in Setubal once, and had a great meal. 

The problem is parking the car when you get there, but if you get there early in the day it will be perfectly fine.

Casa da Adoa is very very nice. Rustic, yes, but quite unique, and with amazing Hosts.  And prices are good considering the amazing location and lack of options.

The rooms have coffee machines and a small fridge, but they also have fully equipped apartments with kitchen at reasonable prices.

Enjoy, I absolutely did!

The only place to stay in Portinho da Arrábida

From the first call to paying and leaving the host was fabulous. Simple but clean accommodation. Our room was overlooking the sea just 20m away. Outside the front door parking and a fish restaurant. Well worth a visit


An absolute jewel

We have stayed here for 2 nights in July. This house is meters away from the sea, only 10 minutes walk from the nearest beach and close to several beautiful restaurants! We have felt really welcomed and the staff was very helpful. Definitely a recommended getaway!
