My son's and I stayed here for 2 nights and enjoyed it a lot.  We got a room on the 4th floor that looked out over the town's main drag towards the quaint bridge.  we really enjoyed our view.  We had a large room with a table on which my boys placed cards.

Part of the restaurant (breakfast is included) has windows that look out over the little river.  the river sparkles in the morning sun.  Nice breakfast too.

We took a 5-week trip in Europe and this room was my son's favorite.

There are very few reviews for this hotel on Tripadvisor and the few that are here are quite mixed.  As there aren't many hotels in Kłodzko, it felt a little bit like picking the best of a bad bunch when choosing this hotel, but I'm pleased to report it was worth taking a chance!

The hotel took a little bit of finding but this perhaps says more about my map reading skills than the actual location of the hotel which really is only a short 10 minute walk from the Miasto train station and the local bus station.

Upon arrival, the reception door is permanently locked and requires fob access (which of course we didn't have yet).  There is a Polish phone number to call to speak to reception which I wasn't willing to call as it would have meant incurring a charge to me.  Also, we arrived within the stated hours of reception being open, not the middle of the night and there was no pre-warning on Booking.com that reception may not be manned.

Thankfully, the hotel has an adjoining restaurant and common sense told me to try the restaurant door which opened and led straight to reception where I was able to ring a bell and check in.

The receptionist was kind, friendly and hard working, balancing her time between the hotel and restaurant.  I offered to pay up front (161.10 zly/approx £30) for the night.

The room was exactly as expected, in fact, I'm pretty sure it was one of the rooms that featured in the photographs on the booking website!  As others have mentioned, the bed has a thin mattress and isn't the most luxurious but my partner and I got a really good night's sleep.  The room in itself is fairly large, the bathroom was clean, the tv worked, there is a fair bit of storage space (although I noticed the drawer of my bedside cabinet was full of crumbs which was a bit of a naughty oversight on the part of the cleaner ;) )

All in all, we felt the room represented pretty good value for money!  The free wi-fi worked just fine and the included breakfast (continental and typically Polish i.e a bit hit and miss if you're not into that kind of thing) did the job.

Kłodzko is definitely worth a visit (we had a lovely walk up a country trail that skirted the perimeter of the fortress) - there are some nice little coffee shops that are good for people watching.  We visited just outside of the main season so it would be good to head back in the height of summer and see what this little place has to offer.

Glad we took a chance on Casa D'Oro!

Definitely not a 3 star hotel. Very uncomfortable beds, room furnishings old, bathroom clean. Breakfast was okay. Beware of the top floor rooms, there is no lift, the stairs narrow and squeaky. Good location, close to city center.

Budget hotel in Klodzko

If you are looking for a good budget hotel, then this could be it.  It is very basic and does not have an elevator or air conditioning.  This is important to consider because the stairs are narrow and there are 4 floors. The room was large and clean, but again the bedding was very basic. We slept with the windows open due to the lack of air conditioning and it was very quiet!  For about $70.00 per night which was incredible given we were paying $300. and $400. more for other hotels, it was a great one night stop.  I say this because the staff was awesome.  They went out of their way to communicate with us (they spoke Polish and we spoke English), and make sure we were happy!  They really were lovely people.  The restaurant  was excellent and the breakfast buffet (which is included in the price) was a standard European breakfast, the same as we received from all of our other hotels. So, for the money, I was a very contented guest.

A Great Price

Small hotel with dark rooms, windows overlooking the courtyard, low beds, no sheets, pillows with traces of blood, no sound insulation you can hear all the sounds of the hotel guests. TV very small installed at the top. Breakfast without fruit. chek out just after eight in the morning
