We were warmly welcomed by all the staff on our arrival at the hotel. Talking about 100% customer care! We love the set uo of the hotel, the way it was designed and all the decors. Very colorful as it brings positive vibes. Simple yet satisfying breakfast, that's all we need. 

St. John is spelled as RELAXING!

~Location~

The location is conveniently only a short walk from the beach near the Pukka Beach hotel and the hostel as well as the beach itself.  Walking home is fine in the daylight but there is not very much lighting after sunset.  It is a short tuk tuk/”tricycle” ride to/from town.

~The Room & Establishment~

This hotel is good value for the price.  I’d say marginally more expensive (?) than staying in a hostel but you have a private room and bathroom however the linen isn’t great.

My room was basic and tiny (about the size of a double bed) with a little extra space on one side with a desk at the foot of the bed but was clean and had airconditioning.  The bathroom was also small but sufficient although a bigger shelf to put toiletries on would be great.

The walls are not specially thick and so the family of 5 next door felt like they were in my room half the time.

You need to order your breakfast the night before and get to eat it on the top floor overlooking the view of the bay.  Make sure you arrive at the time you said otherwise your breakfast will be sitting waiting for you getting cold.

~The Service~

The staff were polite and friendly but only as required rather than feeling it was not a chore.

Communication:  Ok

I have no hesitation in recommending this establishment to you as a **budget hotel** option.

Simple but adequate

The highlight of this hotel is their staffs. They are friendly and helpful when you need them. They even help my friend to buy stuffs for his wedding proposal. What a memorable stay!

This is also the first time i encountered a dining area that is in the top floor. It make sense to me because they don’t have enough space in their lower floors. Just imagine, you are eating your breakfast on a top floor with the island view.

Minor concern: Our room doesn’t have cellphone signal at all but who needs it anyway? We are there to rest and to temporarily disconnect to virtual word and experience the real beauty of Palawan. 😉

Staffs are friendly

The room was a good size with a large bed, but if only they had greater quality bedding it would be so much better!! When we arrived the bed sheet was old, worn and covered in stains. We also had an issue with one of the pillows but the staff quickly got that changed. The shower water pressure is incredibly weak and cold. Other than that the bathroom was fine. The staff were so kind and helpful as always. The breakfast offered was decent and filling, I think they could offer a drink included in the price though (other than coffee). It is a 100 pesos tricycle ride away from the main hub of El Nido, but still nearby some restaurants and bars. The best part is that you’re able to see the sunset from this side of the island too, definitely worth a watch. I would say our stay was pretty average overall, if we were to come back to El Nido I would probably opt to stay somewhere else a little closer to the main town. 

Better bedding needed

We stayed here for 4 days to explore el nido but they could do better,Staff is friendly but the room service was not good at all!!i love there FREE breakfast every morning though it was good!! they should change their beddings to a nicer one and their towel it seems that its ready to retire!!!but they did a good job in our tour and van transfer..

I known this is a fairly cheap hotel (or not $40 a night) but come on!! How hard is to provide clean accommodation. 

I wouldn’t even dry my dog with the towels provided (check the photos).

Water pressure is non-existent and you cannot flush the toilet, there is a bucket in the bathroom for flushing purposes, well the water coming out from all the faucets is brown (see the photos).

Endless spiders webs on the ceiling also. Just stay elsewhere. I’m ok with old, less features, bad location and such, but cleanses I will not go ok with.

Instead of sleeping all day the front desk, go clean up the rooms so future customers will not drop negative reviews.

How hard is to clean?? DIRTY

This was an overdue review.

We visited El Nido May of 2018 and stayed at this place. We booked 2 rooms and was given rooms next to each other. Room rates are very affordable. Good for guests who’s outside most of the time for tours and just needing a place to sleep.

Ms. Jel is friendly and she attended well to our needs. We have booked our airport pick up and drop in advance as well as our tours and she arranged it for us. Rooms are being cleaned daily while we are out for tours.

They just need to improve the ff:
-Breakfast serving- as sometimes, its being served late than the time you requested. 
-Rooms- No TV in our room and mosquitoes are terrible,even though its an airconditioned room and they have mosquito net inside (I went back to manila having red bumps due to mosquito bites.)
Rooms provided for us are both in ground floor which might be the reason why the wifi is slow.

But overall it was a good stay.

Affordable Accommodation

St. John Island View Pensionne was truly a one stop shop accommodation. They are the ones who arranged our van transfers from and to Puerto Princesa. They also provided our affordable Tour A and Tour C. The stay was fun and relaxing. The staff were accommodating and approachable. They also served a FREE breakfast for our 2 Days stay. We will be referring this to our colleagues and friends.
