I've stayed in OMP during Mangkhut super typhoon, and I'm just so glad that a friend recommended it to me.

The staff were just so so friendly, specially Elvie <3, who spent her off days and her break time with us (the guests) and played cards and had most of our meals together.

I've spent 1 month in the Philippines and just very few hostels had hot shower and strong water pressure at the same time, OMP was one of them. Their rooms had ACs and fans for the guests to suit themselves. And the included buffet breakfast, oh boy, it's just perfect for a big eater such as me.

The location of the hostel is so convenient, everything is close by, from the restaurants and convenience stores to the agencies for islands hopping. Also the front desk at the hostel will help you out with any reservations you want to make.

This is the perfect hostel to feel home.

Best hostel experience in the Philippines

You can find the pros and cons from most reviews other than mine. But I just want to point out that at OMP, YOU CAN BE YOURSELF! That means, if you're not feeling social today, you can rest in your dorm, swipe your phone, sleep, or do nothing. You won't feel judged. I checked in at another highly-rated hostel days later, and it made me feel highly uncomfortable because it casted a "party" ambience from morning until night. Sometimes when you travel, it's important that you spend time alone to recharge. OMP is a diversified hostel that accepts travelers or locals as they are :) Thank you, OMP!

Everything went so well!

This hostel located in the centre of El Nido right next to the beach is a great place to stay. Staff are really accommodating and you can book any tour or activity you want to do! Stay includes breakfast and is very reasonably priced

Super friendly lovely hostel

We stayed here for 1 night on a 9 bed mixed dorm. the room has its own toilet and bathroom. And there is a heater in the shower. I am surprised as most hostel/dorm does not offer heater. This is already an air conditioned room. They also have free breakfast. The breakfast is ok and usual (bread, fruits, oatmeal). I like that they have a generator as there is sometimes a rotating brownout in the area.

The space is quite tight and it has a bunk bed up to 3 levels. This is the only thing I did not like. But I would still recommend this place as the location is in the town center and it has value for money.

Value for money

I loved this place.  Booked for me under a tour, and I wanted to try a new experience.  Usually I book at hotels and resorts.  It wasn't the Hilton so that was an initial hurdle.  However the staff were really lovely and a load of fun as well as being very helpful. 
The wifi was average but not really an issue.  
I loved how friendly everyone was, and the hostel was very central to everything.  I loved every minute of it and frankly the staff made it for me.

My first Hostel Experience Ever

I have always stayed in hostels. For the price, it was okay. But my experience was terrible. I was discriminated in my own country!

This hostel seems to attract mostly young and wild backpackers that they had to charge a fine for guests caught having sex. Personally, I don't mind the wild crowd but I hate racist and entitled people. I have tried saying hi and smiling at these racist jerks but they would just look at me with a blank stare. These are white people from different countries and for some reason most of them acted cold with me.

I confirmed this at breakfast when the white guests were all there and ignored me and also the Indian guests. I really felt excluded despite trying to reach out.

El Nido is attracting the wrong kinds of tourists that don't care about the locals and environment (they just leave trash anywhere, the rooms are so gross because of the guests!). I have been backpacking where I meet friendly white people and never encountered such a horrible crowd!It's that worse that the hostel even had to post a sign that there will be a penalty to guests caught having sex lol

PS.I had to emphasize that they are white because that was my experience. The older ones are okay.

Stay away if you're Filipino or from a 3rd world country. Racist young white guests!
