We were meant to stop at Casa Kresala for 2 nights but ended up staying for a week as it was too hard to leave. 

The owner, Willy, is a chef by profession in both Kresala and Berlin and it shows by the quality of the food. Every inclusive breakfast was different, with a combination of homemade dishes with pickles, freshly made juice, fruits and coffee. If you choose to eat in the evenings, the meals are incredibly good value and thought through, mainly for pescatarian and vegetable based diets. The restaurant view overlooks the beach which is pretty much to yourself, where you can watch the waves while eating. 

The design of Casa is really tasteful and laid back, with hammocks, sofas, swinging chairs, board games and guitar - a perfect place to chill (with the cats).

Surfing is very convenient, particularly if you dont have a board. They have a wide range of 'tablas' from short to long to fish that can be rented, and there are two different spots within a 2 minute walk from the Casa. 

To summarise, couldn't recommend the place more.

The stay here was just awesome & peacefull! The owners are always very helpful & they also cook delicious for dinner & breakfast!! The hostel is very clean & confortable! Would definitly stay here again!!

Perfect!

Highly recommend this place! I stayed for 5 nights in the 4-bed-dorm and enjoyed the amazing cooking skills of Willy, the owner. Not only is the hostel in general very clean and well-conceived, but also is the owner-couple super friendly and amiable. Also check out the surf lessons!

A True Surf Hostel

Very nice place to stay near Zorritos beach, the hosts are very nice and helpful, and the breakfast is different every day, also you can ask or meals that are delicious. You can take surf lessons with the owner. There is mosquitos in summer, repellent very recommended :)

Cozy and confortable

We spent three nights at Casa Kresala and loved every bit of it! The complementary breakfast is delicious as are the dinners that they cook each night (which are very good value). Cleo and Willy are both really friendly and helpful. They helped us organise a boat trip to go searching for manta rays and we ended up swimming with a huge Sei whale which was incredible. The hostel is very clean, comfortable and has a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Willy came surfing with us everyday and had great boards for hire very cheaply. Would 100% recommend staying here!

Like a dream! 

I loved everything at Casa Kresala! Cleo and Willy are amazing hosts! The house is located very close to the beach where there was no one but us, which we loved. The wifi worked perfectly all the time. The house, bedroom and bathrooms were always clean and Cleo put an extra effort to keep the mosquitoes away! And most importantly, the breakfast (which was included) was the best breakfast in the world! With warm bread, homemade sweets (jam or banana bread), fresh fruit juice! Amazing! And dinner, which was not included but was affordable, was the best meal we had around! I wouldn´t stay anywhere else in Tumbes. I stayed for 4 nights and would def recommend it.
