The llahuar lodge is one of the best hostel lodges I’ve ever stayed at. It’s a long hike to get there but it’s so worth it for the tranquil and natural hot springs at the base of the canyon. The food provided at the restaurant is tasty and reasonable. Both the room and the common area were very clean. The family running the place is incredibly warm and kind, the best Peru has to offer. Try to take a dip after dark to enjoy the Andean night sky, shooting stars, and the Milky Way above.

Would definitely stay again and recommend to anyone looking to relax and enjoy the canyon.

Can’t miss!

On entering the dirty , dusty floored reception/ dining  room/ bar  you pass by the filthy kitchen. We ate tasty fried egg & chips & worked hard to ignore the kitchen they had come from. The dining room is veranda style & open to the air. Lovely view of river but bare wires & bare bulbs ( filthy & fly encrusted) hanging from ceiling in dirty, uncared for & unloved dining room/ reception/ bar. The whole place including bedroom & bathroom needs a deep clean & then regular cleaning to maintain an acceptable basic  standard of cleanliness & hygiene. 
The bed linen was clean but the walls & floor of the wooden bedroom cabin had  many dead insects on them. The toilet & wash basin were clean but the shower had dead insects in the shower tray & the shower head was filthy.
The cabins were in lovely grassy river location with table, chairs & flowers outside cabin. This good attention to detail needs to extend to interior bedrooms, bathrooms & dining room. As we checked out the hotelier was watching football on TV in hotel entrance. His time should have been used cleaning.Even when paying budget price  a basic level of cleanliness & hygiene are expected & required. 

Unacceptable level of cleanliness & hygiene 

Enchanted place at "the end of the world". The 3 lower pools are ingenious. We had a "luxury hut" with a bath and it was clean and cofortable: just fabulous, considering where you are. You have the river in the background at all times - which i think is really romantic - if a restroom is nearby...

Great hot pools and accomodation

Llahuar was our first stop overnight from cabanaconde. The accommodation was basic but we had all what needed. Don’t miss out the hot springs of this place: fabulous to recover after hiking!
Special mention about the food. We got a very tasteful lomo saltado and a Pisco sour that was way better than all the ones we have tried so far in Lima or Arequipa. I strongly recommend this place!

Great stay with hot springs & very good food

Hot springs were great and price quality ratio for the room was ok. However, the service was horrible. The lady at the reception clearly didn’t like her job as she was constantly grumpy and she spoke/understood not 1 word English. The streetdogs were very aggresive and while we were sitting at the table they started fighting underneath our table and biting etc. We did not receive 1 “are you ok” or anything, they were just laughing. There was no concern for our safety and they made very little effort to make us enjoy our stay.

Thanks to Jens, who despite the pandemia gives us a clean bedroom and an amazing dinner !! He welcomed us very warmly and was really friendly, spending some time with us during the dinner ! 
I recommend it so much !

Amazing stay !

The food in the Llahuar Lodge was very good and wasnt very expensive! The rooms are kept simple and are clean. There is a shared bathroom. The hot springs are good to relax after the long hike, but for some of my friends they werent hot enough.

Delicious food

1. The money we got back after paying was fake (because we have been tired in the morning, we didn't recognized it). 
2. Outside it is written "Breakfast included" - Later they expect 10s.
3. Light and water in the baathroom will only be turned on, if you ask for it. (time Limit) 
4. The lounge gets closed at 8pm.

In front of the Lodge there is the casa de Virginia. It's more to recommend.

Fehlentscheidung

Stayed here for one night for the hot springs and wished we hadn’t! Ordering any food was a complete ordeal, orders were completely wrong and the vegetarian option was really weird - a puddle of quinoa in milk with some rice. They tried to overcharge us when we checked out. Breakfast took over an hour which was frustrating when you want to get up and out. We had to order the night before apparently to make things easier but it just seemed to confuse the staff. The room was fine, just a shed and a mattress for 50 soles. Bathrooms relatively clean with soap and loo roll. Hot springs were rubbish - lukewarm and dirty. There’s another lodging just across from this one they looks better - I’d stay there!

Completely disorganised

We got here via a travel agency. The room was very dirty and fool of bugs and spider webs, the "hot springs" are extremely cold, no electricity in the room. 
Avoid getting here if u can. This is really not a good place to stay in.
