The photos in internet doesn’t look at all like the hotel.
It is kind of an expectation vs reality joke. 

The internet was really slow.

We had to stay at the hotel because our flight was 5 hours delayed and then canceled. If you happen to have the same experience don’t let them put you in this hotel.

There was hair of other people in the bed and bathroom.

This hotel has all the comforts and amenities of a high end hotel with a much better price!The bed is one of the most comfortable i have ever slept in and everything is super clean! The food at the hotels restaurant is among some of the best in David! We have lived in Panama for 13 years and always travel to David. Take my word for it, this place is the best!

The BEST in David

The hotel is small, with small rooms but it must be said that it is very well located and very clean. It is not far from the bus station and close to the central street.

Good location

When booking in the hotel, the photos they have on the web leave much to say about the reality. I stayed 4 nights and 5 days and my experience was not the most gratifying. The simple room is really simple a small part, the bathroom is very small, even the bathroom of the apartment I have in Panama City is larger, the soap they had is the one they put in the occasional hotels. The very dark rooms and with a damp smell, the small TV with very few cable channels, the wifi signal was not the most gratifying.

The optical illusion is the illusion.

The room is very clean, comfortable, Rosa's attention at the reception is very good, Elmer showed me where my room was and explained how the card system works, the common areas are clean, the restaurant is very nice.

Well, well, well, well.

The room was fine, good hot water, cable and TV, the TV was pretty small and the signal was bad, the air conditioning was a little noisy and I enjoyed the pillows a little big, there was parking, the breakfast was separate.

For a night to pass, it's all right.

We booked on short notice and were surprised to find a pleasant and clean hotel in a crowded neighbourhood.  Plenty of secure parking. A/C and hot water which we have had difficulty finding in other hotels in Panama.  The front desk clerk spoke excellent English.  

Nice clean hotel 

Although the hotel has a very good exterior facade and may seem like a rather curious hotel, when we arrived at the room, there was a smell of cerrado that caught our attention.

Incredible but true.

I was a bit disappointed in the room at this hotel. The shower is so small I had to open the curtain to bend over to wash my legs. The staff didn't bother to put the toilet paper in the holder but placed on back of toilet. Soap dispensers in shower and sink were empty. On the plus side there was plenty of hot water in the shower and at the sink. 
I think the bed mattress was made of foam. It sank so much in the middle it was like sleeping on a hammock.
The dinner room is very nicely furnished and the dinner was good. I had the chicken breast Florentine with mashed potatoes and a strawberry smoothie. Both good.

Hotel lacking but good restaurant

We only stayed at Hotel Gran Via for one night but it was very nice. Our room was very clean and spacious. We ate in the restaurant which was surprisingly busy for a Sunday night but that didn't stop us receiving good service and good food. 

Had we been stopping over in David on our way back we would definitely have stayed at Hotel Gran Via.
