Excellent location right on the edge of the old city. The room was clean, the water hot and the staff were friendly, but the price I negotiated by phone was not the same when I arrived. A misunderstanding, and I succeeded in having what I considered to be the correct price. The hotel insisted on stationing an armed guard outside my room, and I'm not sure if this is common practice for foreign guests, or if it was because I was a woman alone. I refused to let him accompany me outside though. The restaurant food was good and reasonably priced. I'd definitely stay there again. Excellent value.

This is an ideal opportunity in terms of finding a good place to stay in.specially in the older part of Peshawar city,everything seems fine,food,staff,location,rooms & fare.I would recommend this for outbound tourists to stay,far better than other hotels around,at this range of price.

It is a great location, the staff is friendly, food is good and centrally located in the heart of the old city of Peshawar, known as Namak Mandi (The food street, famous for the barbecue).
The room rent is reasonable and in the old city that is the only hotel that accepts foreign travelers/tourists.

Last month I visited Peshawar a city of  kyber pukhtunkha a province of Pakistan I stayed at Hotel Emaraat its location is very perfect due to some reasons first of all hotel good neat and clean and very reasonable rates.
It's located in the heart of city Peshawar it is in namak mandi famous for peshawari mutton "Karahi" specially Nisar charsi it's also business place here is Peshawari chappal market also whole sale medicine market famous Qissa Kawani bazar is just two kilometers or less food street is located in the front of this hotel.
Emaraat Hotels own restaurant and room service is too good food rates are also very resonable.
I recommend travelers to stay in this hotel and discover Peshawar city.

Great location, good hotel

" A better choice at good price "

In the heart of Peshawar city

Excellent Location

Hotel is on good position. Rooms can be little beat cleaner ( is lot of bugs around rooms) but for Pakistan is good. 
Only what I dont like is staff in restaurant. Its lazy, not interested and very unfriendy.

Good position

Disappointed that there was no hot water for two nights.  Also AC did not work well.  The AC said 17 c but at times I was sweating.  Also, some ice particles formed and dropped out of ac onto my electronics.  Hotel needs to step up the game.  

Mediocre or a bit less.  

I stayed 2 nights in the Amaraat Hotel which is well positioned on the edge of the very lively bazaar area. Travelers wanting a quiet neighborhood are advised to go elsewhere but the area suited me well and my room at the back of the hotel was quiet even at busy times of day. The hotel was probably a 3.5 for me rather than a 3.0 with a downgrade because of the bizarre hot water situation.

The reception area is small but comfortable and there are sitting areas on each of the floors. The sleeping room was not as nice as the public spaces but still good enough and better than many. It had twin beds, a couple of chairs and a coffee table. There was a duvet without a separate cover and no top sheet on either bed but the receptionist happily supplied a top sheet on request. The room had both air conditioning and a ceiling fan. It also had good lighting which was appreciated after the dim conditions encountered in other Pakistani hotels. The bathroom was fairly standard and a good size but there was no hot water. The receptionist reported that the water is heated centrally with the system turned off in the summer because of the expense. The water was very cold rather than tepid and far too cold to use for anything but the briefest dip. Several other hotels that I stayed in during this trip through Pakistan's north also had no hot water but they didn't have any water heating system and also didn't pass themselves off as quite so upmarket as the Amaraat.  

On the plus side here was very good wifi in both the sleeping room and the public spaces. The restaurant on the ground floor was opulent in design and served good meat dishes. It is apparently known for mutton barbecue which was well done and very tasty. Breakfast was pretty standard and not particularly good but lunch and dinner is worth considering even for guests from other hotels.

Like many cities in Pakistan Peshawar suffers from recurrent power cuts but power was always restored within a minute or so in the hotel suggesting that there is generator tucked away somewhere. 

I may have undervalued this hotel given the great wifi, good food and the generator. If you can live without hot water and like to be in a somewhat noisy but entertaining area then the Amaraat could be the right place to stay in Peshawar.
