A very nice and relaxing place to be! The owners took really good care of us. Great breakfast and the first night we were served flammkuchen, which were very tasty! The rooms were clean and there was everything you need!! Excellent place to visit!!!

Great and relaxed atmosphere!

Quick over night trip to the Christmas Markets. The location of the Hotel is perfect for walking everywhere, the hostess is very friendly and welcoming. The rooms are basic but slightly larger than most European hotel rooms, very clean, I will stay here again.

We stayed at ziza on 17 &18 May 2014 . lovely family run hotel we was meet with coffee and cake that the  first time that's happened to me . remember this is a budget hotel room are comfortable and clean ,shower was a bit hit and miss , rooms to the front of the hotel can be a little noise on Saturday night but for a short stay would recommend this hotel . What is not budget about this hotel is the wonderful breakfast Annette will cook fresh bacon and eggs for you endless coffee all 1st class 
The Hotel is only just around corner from the main town and car park is about 5 mins walk away and is 7 Euro for 21 hours .
ALL IN ALL A NICE HOTEL YOU ARE MADE TO FEEL VERY WELCOME, I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND FOR  A  STAY IN VALKENBURY.

My sister and I spent a few days in Valkenburg at the end of November to visit relative and the Christmas Market. Ziza was a wonderful find. Only 11 rooms but well equipped. our room was on the 2nd floor with two large windows overlooking the picturesque castle ruins. comfortable beds, seating area , tv and ensuite , clean towels every day. Annette our host runs an excellent establishment, very friendly ,makes you feel really welcome.  Fantastic breakfast , with a huge choice of breads, yogurts fresh fruit, cereals , dutch bread toppings, cheeses and cold meats. even cooking scrambled egg and bacon if required. An extra treat were the home made cakes baked by her husband and the delicious coffee.  Breakfast was a leisurely affair and also good times 8.30am till 11am. no coffee/tea facilities in room but most dutch hotels don't do this. complimentary bottles of water in room on arrival. Ziza is just of the main thorough fair of bars and hotels off the main high street, close to all amenities. Parking is not available at the hotel, but a short walk away with an overnight charge.  We enjoyed our short stay immensely and would definitely recommend Annette and her hospitality to anyone who wants a short stay in Valkenburg. She would cook an evening meal to order as prefers to get in all ingredients fresh.

Christmas shopping trip

Hotel Ziza (named after their daughter Elizabeth) is a good place to stay when visiting Valkenburg. The host Annette was very charming en helpful, and serves us the next morning a wonderful breakfast (a wide range of fresh choice like pineapple, limbourg cake, and so on). Our room was rather basic (but that is what you usually get in an older building, but everything what you need was there, and it was very clean), we slept very well, and have not heard any noise at the street. The hotel is very good situated in the centre of Valkenburg, for visiting the christmas caves: the magic sand (christmas scenes made of sand), the fluwelen grot (nice christmas market, with impressive paintings at the marl wall) and the gemeentegrot (much too commercial, nothing special). We also enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Wijncafé De Rijke Janssen.

If we ever go back to Valkenburg, we will stay at Hotel Ziza again.
