This hotel is clean enough... spotless, but the decor is bland and very boring. Needs to move into modern times a few basic touches here and there would vastly improve it
The bedrooms adequate and again a bit of sparkle needed
The dining room clean and tidy 

The lady and Gentleman that run the hotel need to up their game in the customer service skills Dept.   they have no knowledge of the local bus service or trains... all the tourist  info they have in the reception is Dutch... so a little help would have gone a long way 

And the silver kitchen bins on each floor landing 😱

Needs cheering ip

The overall experience was ok.  One a scale of 1 to 10 I would rate this place a 5.  The room was comfortable but the floor was filthy, and the room had a faint sewage smell.  The shower door leaked and the floor of the bathroom flooded.  The bed was very comfortable but the pillows were not.  The proprietors did a very good job with breakfast.  It was timely and delicious, while still a simple meal.  They had bread, meat, cheese, boiled eggs, spiced danish bread, and a wide variety of spreads to put on the bread.  The coffee was good as well.  The owners are wonderfully kind people and that means a lot. The hotel has its own parking lot which is useful since other areas rely on street parking.  It is a 10 minute walk from the old city and near there are a dozen places to eat within 15 minutes.  If this was the only place open I would stay there again, but if I went back to Valkenburg I would first look for another place to stay.

A fine place to stay but not excellent

we stayed here last year and the standard has not dropped at all, still very friendly warm and welcoming. the rooms are toasty warm great when you have been out exploring the christmas markets and imaculately clean. a good filling breakfast is on offer with a selection of meat and cheese and assorted bread and jam as well as eggs. located away from the town centre which for us is ideal, about a ten minute walk will find you in the town centre but also good parking in the rear for no extra cost. i cant fault the place or value for money.

still excellent.

Stayed one night here while traveling through the area. Very friendly welcome, excellent English spoken by the owners. Bedroom was small but spotlessly clean, with ensuite bathroom and good soundproofing so I wasn't disturbed by other guests. The bed was large but quite soft, I would have preferred a bed with a firmer base, perhaps the others in the hotel are better. 
Breakfast was usual Dutch fare, and the price was reasonable. The location is very convenient for the railway station, and there is adequate parking at the rear if you've arrived by car.

Comfortable, good value place to stay

hi we stayed here for three nights last week and had a very pleasant stay indeed. we received a very warm welcome from our hosts who speak excellent English.  Our room was large, spotlessly clean and very well appointed and also nice and warm as it was freezing outside.  there is resident parking to the rear and its just a short walk into town, ten or so minutes but there is also a great little bar about 100 meters away which we found very friendly and cosy. they provide a very good typically Dutch breakfast which will set you up for the day and if you are visiting the Christmas markets it is very well located for their tunnels,  maastricht and achen and monchau. we had an excellent time here and hope you do to.
