I have been staying at The Home Run B&B a couple of times a year for the last six or seven years. Both as a couple and solo as well.
I have always thoroughly enjoyed my stay as has my wife. Veronique is a lovely very helpful person and nothing is too much trouble for her. Gives brilliant directions and always knows the best places to eat and visit.
Yes there is a bar across the street, which by the way serves great beer and excellent food. I can honestly say the noise has never bothered me but then again i'm there to enjoy myself so I was probably making as much noise as anyone else. A few mates and I just returned from Amsterdam on Friday 20/09/19 after a four day visit. Now I'm not some young fella out to party all night. I'm 62 years old and the youngest of my friends was 44
 I stayed at Home Run while my friends stayed at a hotel but on seeing the room they were quite impressed. Home run is and hopefully alawys will be my go to destination in Amsterdam.

Four day city break.

My partner and i stayed here for Europride this year and the B&B was only about a 20m walk to the canal where the parade took place, so for us this B&B was in the perfect location. It was also only 15 mins walk to any major locations like Dam Square, Central Station, Heineken Factory and it was a really nice quiet area of town close to shops and restaurants. The breakfast provided every morning was prepared fresh and there was an great selection. Veronique was a very hospitable host and nothing was too hard for her, we had some great conversations and she made our stay memorable. The room was very large and had everything we could have needed for our stay, huge bed which was very comfortable and great view into the street. We would definitely recommend you stay here if you have a choice.

Fantastic stay at this B&B

Stayed with 2 friends at the beginning of June for 3 nights and we loved it. The room was spacious and bright, the mattress of the double bed was really good and we slept like babies. The lovely Veronique ensured we were comfortable and even gave up her own mattress when we realised on the first night that there was a small issue with the extra 3rd bed. Veronique was full of advices and tips and this ensured we went to some lovely places. There was a fridge, kettle and selection of teas. Also plates, crockery so it was easy to buy food outside and eat in the room. Also free good WiFI. The room overlooks a lovely street in a nice area of Amsterdam, there are a couple of cafes/restaurant just opposite but when you close the windows you can't hear the noise. The area is very pretty, full of small shops and has a variety of restaurants to choose from... I only wish I could have stayed longer! I would definitely choose to go back to this accommodation. Best way to/from airport is by Bus 197 from bus station (not central station), which is only 7 min walk from this place.

Excellent host in excellent property

Spend 3 nights there in August with my mother. Very good location and big room. A bit noice from the street at night. Not super clean room but acceptable. No new towels or cups/glasses during the stay. A bit odd with the shared toilet. Food dissappointing. For the price the breakfast part should have been better or it should have been possible to exclude it to a less price. The homepage price is not updated and it is no longer possible to pay with card. When paying with PayPal the fee must be paid as extra upon arrival. WiFi worked fine.

Nice location. Average room and food.

The price for the double room was 125 € for one night and 20 € extra for the breakfast. The host, Veronique G., is very eager to get the money in advance and the rest immediately after arriving. With the service she isn't as eager.

The room is in opposite of a pub with an open frontside where guests are drinking, laughing and shouting until 3 o'clock in the morning. One can only sleep with earplugs, even more because the regrigerator in the room is very loud. The room is not very clean with bulks of dust on furnitures. The 'best' was the bathroom with shabby walls and a toilet tank without cover. One has to manipulate the intern mechanism of the toilet tank in order to flush and refill the tank.

The breakfast's quality varies a lot and sometimes food was served which we hadn't ordered. Once I got beetroot juice instead of orange juice. There is only instant coffee or tea.

In the room description on the homepage daily towel change is announced; in reality nothing of this. Once the host operated the washing machine in the bathroom after midnight; the next day the bed linen was hang up in the floor. In the whole flat there is a terrible smell.
