Great little riad, very well presented with a lot of quirky touches. Lovely room with plenty of space and well positioned in essaouira. Breakfast was lovely every morning with a good selection and I would return!

Four days

I was very happy at how beautiful the riad looked. My big problem was there was no one around, anywhere, when I needed something - the terrace area also looked abandoned. When the host did appear, her English was extremely poor and although we tried, it was very difficult communicating. She told me that it would be impossible to get to Agadir in the morning - yet today I managed on bus - no issues. 

There was also no hot water in shower at night. My host indicated that I should get it in 10 minutes, but no luck. Next morning again no hot water - I was told to shower in a bathroom adjoining what looked like a storage room!
 Wish the facility were better run - full of great potential!!

A chic empty riad - mismanaged.

One of my two very favourite riads, Gre du Vent is not only extremely good value for money, it is utterly charming & artistic. The terrace has a panoramic view of the ocean & a pet tortoise; NB, remind Pascal to feed her,or she will nibble your toes! Breakfast is divine, homemade yoghurt, fruits, pancakes, croissants fresh orange, argan butter....need I say more? And all with a smile, no matter how late you get up! Essouria is known as Marrakech's baby hippy brother, & for a few days (or years) of peaceful Morocco with lovely food, amazing fish, hundreds of cats & seagulls, art & artists everywhere...
Riad GRE du Vent, on Rue Kuwait is perfect. I Will definitely stay here again...Pascal is a Frenchman; & of course can advise you where to buy a bottle of red!

Perfection.

Beautiful place tastefully decorated. The owner was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was fresh and hot. Rooms were clean. It’s tricky to find especially after dark but the owner was happy to come and find us. Highly recommend. 

Lovely

I absolutely loved this Riad. I don't have anything negative to say about my stay. As a solo traveler it was a perfect place to stay. Comfortable and welcoming.
  The owners and staff were super nice and accommodating. The Riad was very clean and the decor was beyond cool.(I wish my house looked like it). 
  Great location, down one of the twisting alleys and side streets of the "Old Town" but close enough to the main markets, eateries and attractions. I never felt threatened on unsafe. Another cool thing about the location is beyond the wall opposite the Riad is the Atlanta Ocean. 
  My room was on the top floor and it was beautiful. Very very clean. Plus, you could hear the ocean breaking on the rocks which to me was very calming. On the rooftop was a nice spacious terrace with a great view of the Atlantic Ocean.
  I definitely recommend Riad O Gre du Vent and if I ever get back to Essaouira I will be honored to stay there.

Beautiful, Amazing.I Loved It.

I selected Riad O Gre du Vent for my 3 days in Essaouira because of the raved reviews in TA.  My room was on the 4th level, it had a window and it opened to the roof patio which had a very nice sea view.  The building was charming, but the street didn’t have street light!  The Moroccan staff was helpful.  The bed was comfortable.  The bathroom/shower area was always damp once you took a shower.  I supposed it was par for the course since the riad was right by water.  If you do your own laundry,  don’t expect it to dry overnight.   The breakfast was the bright spot during my stay.  They served an assortment of bread with fruit preserves and argan nut butter.  You would also get yogurt and a tiny bowl of mixed fruits.  There were tea or coffee along with fresh-squeezed OJ!  Would I come back to this riad? Probably not!  Aside from the sticky key, my main issues was the toilet.  I was only able to flush the toilet the normal way once.  After reported it to the staff in charge (the owner was seldom around), it showed absolutely no improvement.  Instead of calling a plumber,  I was told the only way to flush was to remove the lid of the tank and do it by pushing down the flush mechanism directly with my hand!  Yes!  It did work this way but I thought I was their guest!  If this and other annoyances are not an issue, I suppose this riad could be almost perfect for you!
