Amazing hotel my current favorite in Mexico. Great location in a jungle like setting with beautiful flora and fauna - smells, sounds and sights all fantastic.
Pools are beautiful and bikes for exploring are great. I found breakfast delicious. And with sister property Cabo Alto 15 minutes away it’s the perfect combination of beach and jungle.
I should have stayed longer!!!

What an enchanting getaway set amongst banana and citrus groves. The service, food, pools, and room were beyond expectations. We have stayed at multiple Hábita properties and this property is the best by a long shot. The property is very intimate and the perfect place to spend a couple of days lazing by the 2 pools and swinging in the hammock on your balcony. 

The only negative to watch out for are the events that can quickly quash any sense of intimacy. On a recent Saturday, we had an amazing day until the afternoon when a group of families (all non-guests) had their event on the property. While the event is away from the main facilities, the noise and groups of wandering event guests overwhelmed the property until the evening. The staff mentioned that (outside of the pandemic) August-December is event season with Thurs-Sun often booked with events. 

Finally, this is a great place for families. If you're looking for a kid-free or minimal kid experience, you might be out of luck. On our recent stay, there were several families with kids of all ages and the accompanying noises/disruptions.

Enchanting, boutique hotel

A lovely, quiet hotel that only has 18 bungalows (each with a different name instead of numbers) and amazing views of nature.
Located inside a lemon and banana plantation the hotel is unique in its decor which still reminds us that originally it dates back to 1890. The reception, the main house where the dining room and kitchen are and three bungalows (Elsa, Grazielle and Charles) are part of the original constructions. The other bungalows are new but keep the antique decor.
The ammenities provided are made with honey and include shampoo, shower gel and bug repellent which are produced locally and have an amazing smell and feel to them.
The restaurant has amazing food which is cooked at the moment using incredibly fresh ingredients grown locally and has a beautiful home taste to it. Be sure to taste at breakfast time (which can be enjoyed in the terrace) las esponjaditas and the delicious honey and jams.
The service is incredibly friendly and the staff is sure to help you out with anything you may need.
There are bicycles available which you can use to either take a ride through the fields or a bit farther away into the town of San Rafael. About a ten minute drive from the beach, you can visit the hotels Azúcar or Cabo Alto.

Maison Couturier, pensión agrícola

I stayed with my husband for a night at Maison Couturier.  The hotel has extraordinary vegetation and is a quiet place to relax.  The food is good, except for the shrimp cocktail.  The service awesome.

There are small details that would make this hotel excellent.  The room had shutters that required McGuiverish skills to make them close properly and there were some wasp nests at the porch.



Almost there

We had great expectations visiting a farm hotel boutique but we were very disappointed.

The staff were good and did more than expected but that's it, during the 3 days we stayed at Maison Couturier only the service was good. 

Not a good place to have a long sleep, forget about relaxing, the local "tractor" was working early in the morning all 3 days, even at the weekend! 6 AM. 

They have big problems with water, it was browny, like rusted. The bathroom is “unique in design” but it is terrible not to have a door, all aromas go to the entire room making it uncomfortable to say the less. The shampoo and the conditioner are contained in glass which is kind of risky to have them in the shower when you have a child. The doors that cover the terrace entrance and the windows from the inside are bad designed too, they are not squared anymore making them difficult to move, you cannot open them easily and you cannot close them entirely, sun entered early in several openings. The AC was fantastic. There were a lot of mosquitoes that on the third day we learned how they came inside the room, we arrived when housekeeping was working with the door fully open! We had to use repellant to have a good sleep on the last night.  

If you like dogs it is your dream hotel, there are 3 dogs from the hotel and on the weekend arrived 5 more dogs from clients! just too many for me and my family.  The grass was bombarded with several dog poops and no one cared about it. 

Restaurant was fine, good and quick service. Food was good but the tomato soup was superb. There were several dishes that were not available during the 3 days. No onion soup at a french restaurant!

BTW, wifi was almost non existent very slow and difficult to work with.

Good idea, bad outcome... big disappointment. Beware of the dogs.

I came to Martinez de la Torre to buy limes for exports. I takes 5+ driving from Mexico City or 3+ hrs from Veracruz (closest international airport). It is country at is best; but for us, produce people, is enjoyment.

Finding this amazing and cozy and farm like posada was a bless. In the middle of a lime and banano farm, good cooks, AC at rooms (cool enough), restaurant very farm like (no AC) and the feel of the jungle with birds and the sounds of the rain, night and day as only the country side makes that kind of music. 

July to September tend to be very hot at night too. I was told. Prices around 100us$ per night.

An Oasis

We booked for 3 nights.  We only spent one.

I don't know where to start this hotel is horrible.

The tub was very dirty, rust and tartar everywhere, sink same thing.  Outlets unsusable because some genious covered the with some sort of wood pice so forget charging your phone or anything.  Taking shower was disgusting the least to say.

Shampoo and conditioner recipients where glass flasks which I thought was cool but kinda dangerous.  Very difficult to pour also.

Paint from the walls was coming off.

Pool had this 60s look not because of design but because of the lack of maintenance.

Room doors were barely standing.

One thing to say on their behalf, breakfast was delicious!  They offered papaya and guava jams, both incredible.  Bread is cooked there daily at 5am, puffed tortillas were a dream.

Will defitely never come back or maybe, just maybe... I'll be stoping for breakfast.
