So lovely. Quiet, beautiful, private. We really enjoyed our stay. Great place to get out into nature. If youre looking for some realxing time in the jungle then this is your spot :) we highly recommend. Onlynthing to be aware of is lots of mosquitos in the summer. Normal though because its a jungle :) 

Lovely host, great location for seeing this part of Mexico. We walked to town for meals and groceries. The beach is over the highway so a bike or car helps get to the beach. There is a taxi stand in town as well as collectivos but we had a car rental which got us to the ruins and sights, The dogs are good friends 

This was our 3rd visit to Renzo's cavelands. We love it here. This time we stayed 30 days in the big cabana. It has a private bathroom, fridge, safe, cook top, water cooler, 3 beds and table and chairs. Very spacious with nice colorful decorations. It was my wife two year old daughter and I. Our daughter loved it, we found a couple playgrounds in the small village also a nice cave cenote with shallow water that we enjoyed a short walk from our cabana. We rented a car for half of our trip but it was very easy and cheap to walk to town and take the collectivo toward Tulum or Playa del Carmen. We also visited Xel ha which was only a couple minutes drive. There is a really nice cenote across the street with a zip line which was 100 pesos to enter but we usually had it to ourselves. The small cave cenote down the road is free to enter.  Renzo is a great host he has good stories from his world travels and was very friendly to us.

I stayed in a small cabana at Cavelands for 4 nights in February, and I didn't want to leave! It was incredibly beautiful and peaceful. The cabana was simple but comfortable, and the water pressure in the shared bathroom was great.  Full kitchen facilities are available to use.  Though I was lazy and didn't do any cooking, some of the other guests did.  Renzo was very helpful in making suggestions on things to do around the area.  There's a small cenote on the property, but there's an absolutely gorgeous large one across the road, so be sure to check that out.  The beach Xcacel is walking distance, though it does require crossing Hwy 307 (not nearly as scary as it sounds and definitely worth it for that little slice of paradise!). I look forward to returning to Cavelands; I've been home for 3 weeks now and have thought about that place every day. :-)  If you like nature and don't need luxury, I think you'll love it as much as I did.

This place is onbelievable, I should write....don't visit it,so it will stay unspoiled and unique.
But if you feel like going back to nature and relax en enjoy the jungle with everything in and around it the  take this chance to stay in the Cavelands. Renzo the owner is a fantastic warm loving person that will make you feel right at home and help you wherever he can.He an make some great food also! Lola and blacky are his two lovely dogs who love a little dogtreat that you can buy at the little store in Chemuyil. We will surely go back there next year.

We stayed at Cavelands for two nights while visiting the Tulum area. It was a little hard to find, but when we did, we were surprised of the setting which had an off the beaten tract feeling, yet so close to all the main attractions. Our three person cabana fit our needs perfectly. There really is a cave to explore with lots of bats and a cenote. Lawence is a very interesting host and great guy.
