Nature Lodge

My husband and I stayed here for 4 days. We could have stayed a week or more. The beach is 14km if white sand. The sea is calm and great for swimming. There are lounge chairs for relaxing by the beach. The food is fantastic. Free, unlimited drinking water. Other drinks are available for purchase. 8 very friendly and super cute dogs. Lemurs live just behind the lodge. A staff member will take you to see them and feed them bananas (for free!). There is a toilet in the rooms. You use a scoop of wood chips after you use the toilet instead of water to flush. No issues. Did not smell at all. There is a sink with running water to wash your hands. The shower does not have running water. However, there is still hot water. They have bottles of water in a glass box in the sun, which you then bring inside to use in the shower. The water was so hot that I needed to mix it with tap water to cool it down a bit. There is no shower nozzle. Simply pour the water from the bottles over yourself. Easy to use. Sunsets in front of the bungalow right on the beach are beautiful. Nosy Iranja day trip should be booked from here, not Nosy Be. Nosy Be is 90 minutes away by boat. Nosy Iranja is 15 minutes by boat. Since it is so close, we were able to stay on the island after all the other tourists from Nosy Be left at 3 pm. We were able to take beautiful pictures of the island without any people on it. We also got to see baby turtles hatch and make their way to the sea. The owers are French but spoke very good English. No issues communicating. There are sand flies and mosquitoes. However, it wasn't an issue as long as you have bug spray on. Free wifi at the dinner area, none in the rooms or on the beach. However, our data worked everywhere. Not that we needed it. It was great to enjoy the silence and be present in the moment. Highly recommended.
