We went in August with our three kids and some friends, the overall management was very bad, no hot water in the tents, so water at all in one of them, the food is cheap and bad, you can see that they try to make greedy savings on pretty much everything, and the staff is very slow. One evening the staff stayed making noise until midnight with some drunk customer. You should avoid that place at all costs. No wonder why there were still tents available despite peak season...

Very poor management, bad experience

beautiful camp with fabulous staff, super friendly and super helpful. Beds bery comfy had fantastic sleeps, really enjoyed my time here it was great. 

Food was also really nice, enjoyed everything i ate there. staff work really hard at making sure you have a fantastic experience, would highly recommend

Amazing

Despite pleasant surroundings, Ol Moran was a bit disappointing. 

My permanent tent was small and dark, unlike other similar places I have stayed. 

The bathroom was cramped and not as clean as it could be and the poor quality bore water was completely untreated and unfiltered. This meant water the colour of rust, that had a strong smell, stained anything it came into contact with. 

Hot water and electricity are only available for a couple of hours in the morning, and a couple of hours in the evening. 

On the positive side, the food was good (the cook makes great bread and cakes), and you can get a nice cup of tea or coffee with biscuits in the afternoon, without having to pay extra. While the restaurant staff are overly attentive, the place also has a nice low-key feel to it, and a diverse clientele. 

Room for Improvement 

Room was very comfortable. Option for 1, 2 or 3 beds. Bathroom was clean, shower was very simple but hot water was available. A bit rusty water but it didn't bother me. 

The service was out of this world. Abdella, Issac, John and David (the chef) were wonderful. They offer wake up calls early (for the balloon, a must!), packed lunches for the long game drive (a must). 

Food was delicious, all home made. The bread was wonderful. 

This simple and economical stay was great.

Cost-effective and convenient. Great service!

The eco lodge was our first stop on our safari. It is a very calm place clean and welcoming. We could almost only hear the birds singing. At night, all lights are shut down by 10pm, we had the chance to watch the most clear sky, full of stars, with no artificial light around. It was such a beautiful show of nature.
 The staff is so kind and helpful( like most places in Kenya). Abdalla, working at the living room, was particularly attentive to us. He helped us with booking our train tickets, and called us some days later to check on us. He  was truly kind and helpful.
Food was simple but good, well served. We would have loved to get more of traditional Kenyan dishes tho
.
We would definitely go back.

Peacefull and safe place, in the heart on nature

We booked two nights at Ol-moran and arrived very late on the day because of extremely poor roads. The second night was New Year's Eve, and we were charged 1,000 Kenyan Shillings extra "because of the special program for that night". We were looking forward to get music, dance, entertainment u,ntil midnight. What we got was a special cake - too sweet, Masai dance - unfortunately at the lowest level of performance and sweet sparkling wine - at 9 pm! A bonfire wat lit, but people were not invited to sit around it. At 11 pm everybody else had disappered in their rooms, and one lonely waiter was left to serve us the drinks to welcome the new year. The rooms, however, are fine, and the food was quite tasty, but with little variety. No fruits for breakfast, and water melon as the only choice for diner desert.

Average place that does not make use of its opportunities

My stay was wonderful, friendly staff, good food.
Moorine had a wonderful service and smile for me!
I will recommend anyone to visit this place
the camp is very clean.  tents have everything you need for a good vacation
the restaurant is always fresh and tasty food
in the shower a good pressure of hot and cold water
the restaurant has a stable and fast internet

We were there for 4 nights, the staff are really friendly and the food is very good. The tents we settled were spacious and very comfortable. You can see lots of birds just sitting out of your tent. The two intern girls became friends with me and were very sweet. When I was coming back home they just said like a family member ...dont go stay with us.

I really enjoyed my stay here

This camp is in a great location for visiting the Maasai Mara. We booked this through an agent, though the rates on the website seem quite expensive. The food is average. There isn’t much choice.
The staff are friendly and helpful. When we had an issue with the room booking (our agents fault  not the lodge), they were helpful and understanding. A special mention has to go to Mourine who was really kind and showed a lot of compassion.


Nice loction

Stayed for two nights, very good reception and friendly staff. Impressed with Judy and Boniface. Safe camp, accommodation and food are ok. Clean, neat and tidy place to be in. Packed lunch is very good.
