Inakayado Kiitos

I stayed at Kiitos with my girlfriend from Jan 2 2013 to Jan 4 2013 amidst a free-and-easy Hokkaido vacation. As we were looking to ski for 2 days, we searched thoroughly for affordable lodging in Niseko and settled for Watabe's Kiitos. I am giving Kiitos a rating of 5 for 1 simple reason, the kindness and warmth of the owner Watabe-san. He replied to all my emails promptly and was already waiting at the train station for me when my girlfriend and I arrived on the 2nd of January. As it was snowing heavily, it was extreme comfort to have travelled by car. In fact, throughout our 3 days, Watabe-san was extremely courteous and hospitable and transported us to various spots around Niseko for skii-ing, meals and snacks and back to our lodge everytime. We also had 1 sumptuous dinner and breakfast prepared by Watabe-san that totally filled my stomach. Apart from that, Watabe-san helped me to translate my Omikuji to English which i obtained during New Year's day from the shrine. One thing to note however was the mode of the restroom. As it is unisex, whoever is using it has to indicate with a male/female tag hung on the door. Therefore, for ladies it might be useful to be aware of this. In conclusion, I had a warm and cosy stay at Kiitos. I was touched by Watabe-san especially since he manages it alone (aside from 2 friends who help him tidy the place in the day). Even though i spoke a little Japanese, Watabe-san could converse sufficiently in English. If you do not mind a comfortable and affordable stay amidst a ski-holiday, Kiitos would be your choice.
