My partner and I stayed here for a week over Christmas. We were both so impressed with the hospitality and warmth from Fuji, his family and the other workers. The room was small but cosy and all amenities were clean and well maintained. We loved walking home from the snow fields, sitting by the fire and enjoying a beer from the vending machine. 
To top it all off, my partner forgot his watch and Fuji was kind enough to post it to us in Tokyo! 
Would highly recommend this accommodation to family and friends. 

We can not say enough good things about this lodge. From the moment we arrived for our 7 night stay, the staff and Lodge Manager Fuji were incredibly accommodating and helpful in every way possible. From making sure we had enough to eat at breakfast (which was made fresh every morning) to helping us find the most cost effective day trips, and dropping us off/picking us up at nearby bus stops when they had time (which was not required by them to do so). Our room and bathroom was very clean and extremely comfortable, the lodge is a 2 minute walk to the Annupuri gondola and local bus stops, and most restaurants in the Annupuri area are a maximum 10 minute walk away. Lodge manager Fuji and his staff are what took our stay in Niseko from good to great and we will absolutely stay here again on any future trips to Niseko.

The host, Fuji-san is a legend! Helped us in so many ways, and also speaks very good English. It's more of a hostel than a hotel, with shared bathrooms, but it's cheap and the rooms with reasonable in size. One thing tho... You definitely cannot ski to the door!

Great host! Cheap and convenient

I stayed at a twin bed room of Pension Tomten for 4days 3nights. It was a ok stay, 10min walk from the annupri ski fields were really abreactive location tho there are no restaurants around. So I suggest visitors to bring some food or go to Hirafu for dinner.

As for Tomten, what I didn't like is; 

1, there is a central heating between the beds, so hard to connect 2 beds( tho my bae and I eventually tuned off the central heating and connected 2 beds). 

2, there is no tissue and dust box in the room. 

FYI, tap water is not drinkable here in Hokkaido, so need buy a water. 

Homemade breads for breakfast were good. But I wanted more variety of food, at least yoghurt. 

Working crews are nice, they speak English fluently. And free pickup service was available. 

3泊4日で2名で滞在しました。ツインベッドのお部屋で、2つのベッドの間に暖房が固定されて置かれているため、ベッドを引っ付けるには暖房を切る必要があります。部屋にゴミ箱ティッシュがないのがマイナスですが、基本的には快適で、アンヌプリ国際スキー場まで徒歩10分という便利なロケーション。

ただ、近くに飲食店はないので、車で来るか、食料持参か、ヒラフまで食事に行く必要があります。朝食は缶詰のフルーツ、スクランブルエッグ、自家製食パン、ジャム2種類にマーガリンとベジマイト、シリアル2種類、ミルク、コーヒーなどがあります。個人的にはヨーグルトがあれば嬉しかったです。

ちなみに、私は知らなかったんですが、北海道は水道水が飲めないので、水は持参したほうが安くつきます。

スタッフは英語日本語OKです。行き帰りは無料の送迎サービスもあり、助かりました。

I was booked to stay at Tomten for 7 nights. Unfortunately prior to the date of arrival my travel partner and myself both I sustained injuries and we were unable to continue to the destination, under doctor's advice. . I approached Tomten about a refund under the circumstances, and even though I gave them 2 weeks notice, and forwarded a copy of my medical certificate, they replied after a few days that they were unable to offer any refund for 6 of my 7 nights, which had been prepaid. The costs amounted to approximately $900AUD. 
 All the other places where I had bookings were more than happy to refund full costs.
The day after I cancelled, it showed on booking.com that were are no rooms available at Tomten for the nights I had booked, which I assume meant the room had been re-booked. This means they can make twice as much money for the room, which I feel is fundamentally wrong.
I see all the positive reports by other travellers, and I have no doubt that when you stay there it is comfortable and pleasant, but just be aware that if you have a crisis, this place is not willing to offer anything in the way of cancellation assistance, even if you have a doctor's certificate and they can re-book the room.
