Takama Guest House

The owner was very responsive by email and when we arrived, he gave us a map of the city of Nara and even though he does not have english, he explained where we could go shopping as our luggage had been misplaced which was very nice of him. The room (and the whole house) was typically japanese so for an authentic stay it is perfect. Rooms are very clean, we had the "Nara" room upstairs and had a table in the room with kettle and tea bags. There was also a dryer in the room so you can wash small things (eg. underwears). In the shower room there is a washing machine (100¥) and dryer (100¥). A kitchen and living room with TV are also available for customers. Our second day my suitcase finally arrived and he carried it upstairs once delivered. When my partner's suitecase was planned to arrive and the guesthouse got a call, he dropped a note under our door which was very nice of him. When I sent him an email the last day to inform what time our train was, he replied saying "I'm sorry there was nothing I could do for you"...when he did so much for us! It was super cute ! Loved the place!
