Guesthouse Hokkai

I have stayed at Hokkai Guesthouse in the small town of Nishigishi. Its a very quiet and peaceful town. The Guesthouse is located right on the harbour of the beautiful inlet. The oyster farm right next door cooks up a couple a handful of freshly picked oysters that taste fantastic probably the best I've ever had :) The two hosts Roki and his wife are very accommodating and have a wealth of knowledge of the local area and can give you the best advice to make your stay very comfortable and enjoyable. I do recommend travelling via private transport as I didn't and struggled getting around the peninsula but the very helpful host Roki drove me to the next township to catch the bus in time for the Wajima street markets what a champion! :) Also Hokkai guesthouse has a café next door which is also owned by Roki and his wife that make terrific Thai style dishes and nice teas, drinks and desserts. The only thing is there is no shower in the guesthouse but there is a great sento (public bath) just around the corner that is open till 21:00 or you can go to wakura onsen that was recommended by Roki so we went to souyu Onsen which was spectacular. If you go in Summer, Spring or Autumn Roki also offers sailing experiences on the harbour and private boats for hire which I didn't have the pleasure of doing due to limited time. I will be back for sure :) Thanks again
