It was a okay place. The pod was clean, food area was alright, public bath area I wasn’t a fan of, but dealt with. But the part that was very hard and annoying for me was the rule that if you are in your pod between 10-3pm you will get charged a fine…. This was just stupid. Let’s say I was extra tried from my flight or had bad jet lag I’d have to pay extra to stay in my room past 10am or if I need to come back to my pod because I got up early and was exhausted I’d get charged if I came back before 3pm. Also, your locker was on the 1st floor, baths on the 2nd food area the 3rd and your room on the 4th or 5th… if I forgot something I needed… I’d have to travel from the 4th to the 1st just to get my stuff… this was annoying in the morning getting ready for the day… going down then back up, then down then up…. So stupid. Glad I only stayed 3 nights. (But wish it was less.) not coming back to this one, the most inconvenient hostel I’ve ever stayed at.

I stayed in capsule 838 on L8. Bedsheets and pillow case were not changed from the previous occupant! There were a lot of hair (both long and short) on them when I checked in and they are definitely not from me. A deal breaker!

I liked the location and price. It was a bit of trouble to pack up my luggage and check out at 10 am every day even I extended my stay more than one night. But, everything else was great. Thanks!

I think there is a security problem regarding this hotel. They wanted me to leave my room key at the reception, this was ok but when I returned back to hotel, I just told them my room number and they just gave me the room key without asking anything even my last name to check. I am sure the receptionist didn't recognize me as she was the night shift and not the lady that helped me for check in. I think the hotel should have ask the guest last name in order to confirm they do not give the room key to someone else. Thannks!

Took a twin room and the rooms were much better and well equipped than expected. Huge for Japanese standards with separate areas for sleeping, and getting ready. All amenities are also provided for.Location is relatively near a tram stop, and there's a 1000 yen overnight parking opposite (it would be nice if they could include this somehow haha),, and the only qualms i have about this place is that while there was an indoor onsen, the water was completely lukewarm when we tried it at about 10.30pm or later. Breakfast was also a bit sad as its a single portion, and the portion of eggs was incredibly tiny. But since there was no extra charge for it, it was still a great perk.

I decided to give Capsule Hotel The Ginza another try after a long night of drinking and karaoke with some friends. At around 3000円 per person, it's hard to beat the price if you're just looking for a place to crash for the night.

This time around, I didn't have any problems with the staff. They were all polite enough, if not enthusiastic. That's understandable, as this isn't a place you choose for the customer service.

Everything was clean, the public bath was stocked, and the free breakfast was fine (bread, salad, hardboiled egg, and coffee). I brought ear plugs and an eye mask this time, so I didn't have a problem with any noisy neighbors like my last visit.

I still have one major complaint that was the same as when I visited last year; the capsules are stifling hot with no fans or other means of airflow. Last time I stayed in the warmer months, so I thought they were just trying to save on aircon use, but this time it was snowing outside and still uncomfortably hot inside. I don't think I would have been able to get to sleep had it not been 3AM after a long night of drinking.

Maybe next time I'll just crash in a manga cafe.

At the price, its a good value for staying after a night of drinking, or if you're just traveling through.

I stayed here with my wife and friends who were visiting from America. When we made our reservation in person 1 month prior, the woman at the front desk was very helpful. When we checked in, however, the older man at the front desk was extremely rude. He seemed extremely annoyed that he had to deal with foreigners, despite the fact that my wife speaks Japanese well. He couldn't find our reservation on the list, and questioned several times if we were sure we had the right hotel. We wrote down our names in English and katakana for him, and he continued to rudely question if we had the right place. He eventually realized the reservation mixed up our first names and last names, which is understandable. However, he continued to be rude and never offered an apology. 

The hotel was clean and well maintained, if a little dated, but overall not bad for what you pay for. Not many capsule hotels offer accommodations for women, so its a good place to stay for ladies or mixed gender groups. The public bath was adequate and stocked with basics. The free breakfast is very meager, plain fare, so don't rely on it to get you to lunch.

I had a really hard time sleeping, because the capsules have no aircon, fan, or any way to circulate air inside if the privacy curtain in closed. It got pretty hot and stuffy inside.

Also, make sure you bring ear plugs. The old man in the capsule next to mine had his television volume on high and watched porn from 1:00 am until 5:00 am. That's not the staff's fault, obviously, but just a tip for capsule hotels in general. 

The location is great, its right in the middle of the shopping and night life area of downtown Kumamoto. If you're on a budget capsule hotels can be great, but there are several to choose from, so I don't think I'll stay here again.

Clean and well maintained, but I wouldn't stay here again unless I needed a place to crash after a night on the town.

요즘은 꼭 그렇지도 않지만 아시다시피 아직도 많은 캡슐 호텔이 남성 한정이거나 원래 남성 한정이어서 남성 한정 사우나 등 남성을 위한 캡슐이었기네 늘 캡슐 호텔에 한 번 묵어보고 싶어하면서도 지나쳤었습니다. 그런데 긴자 캡슐은 최근에 지어서인지(깨끗한 걸로 추정) 여성만을 위한 목욕탕과 사우나도 잘 되어있고 특히 화장실 밖에 있는 화장대들과 비치되어있는 로션, 헤어용품 등이 훌륭했어요. 캡슐 자체도 아늑하면서 일반 싱글 크기는 되어서 편하고 이불, 배개도 깨끗했습니다. 안에 조식 등 음식을 먹을 수 있는 음식점과 만화책 코인 노래방, 마사지 의자? 등이 있어서 잘못하면 관광 안하고 안에서만 놀게 될지도 모릅니다ㅋ 프론트의 스테프도 영어나 한국어는 거의 안되지만 정말 친절했습니다. 특히 영어 아예 못하는 남자분은 진심으로 친절해서 좀 감동이었어요. 거기에다 여자 투숙객은 캡슐 30개?정도인 방에 저까지 포함해서 5명이 안되어서 정말 조용하게 잘 지냈습니다. 혼자 여행하시는 여자분이라면 추천!

아, 공중목욕탕이 다른 층에 있어서 엘레베이터 타고 가야되는데 조금 불편하기는 합니다... 그런데 그런 것까지 따지시려면 제대로 된 호텔 가시는 걸 추천합니다.

Until recently, almost all capsule hotels were for men. So, even now a lot of capsule hotels are still only for men or have been converted from men only facility meaning there were a lot of things lacking for female guests(most commonly the bath and sauna) However, this one seems new and has seperate, very clean bath and sauna for women(It is on seperate floor, so it is a bit inconvenient.) Also, there is very nice area that is specifically designed to be used for make-up outside of bathroom. There are lotions and hair products and plastic hair brushes(or combs, I don't remember because I didn't use it not because it was dirty!) that you can use and put it in a used basket so people only use new ones. Staffs are very nice and helpful, but most of them cannot speak or understand English so be prepared to speak few essential Japanese phrases. There is a small japanese restaurant where you can order food or have breakfast(breakfast is simple but was enough for me.) and massage chairs and coin karaoke. Overall, really nice hotel that I strongly recommend.
