The staff was wonderful from check-in, parking, and luggage to advice about the area, the magnificient seasonal bonsai arrangements, and the kamisan's (hotel mistress) care that everything be done perfectly. The meals were kaiseki, delicious and in beautiful dishes.
The Onsen was an indoor bath with an outdoor rotenburo looking at the hillside (lovely with snow, I think) with tsutsuji and, lucky timing: rare Katakuri blooming. The Natural waters felt like healing qualities, smooth skin.

I hesitated to reserve this hotel because I didn't like the Bed-making in the picture. I felt if it was a little "hands-off". Would the cleaning, etc. also be "hands off?" But there were no problems there, clean, and modern, non-smoking room, even the windows were clean. But I took one star off the rating because the bed was rock-hard. Futon on tatami might be softer...

Rare Katakuri Flowers Blooming on Onsen Hillside

Good onsen (not so hot), so you can enjoy good time in room or outside bath.
The food was very good.
Complimentary shoe shine service! Usually Japanese hotel has bed service (arranging futon) while you are dinning at the restaurant. But this ryokan has such unexpected service. It is a kind of Omotenashi (Japanese hospitality)

Japanese hospitality

I went there with my friend family. They have very nice room for two family, 2 big Tatami-room and it connected thought hole and lounge. so for kids they play room by using both rooms.

The sight from the lounge is very nice. we could see the beautiful sunset and sunrise.

For the dinner, they prepared two room, and our table was sat at family rooms, there was also anther party but they also has small kids, so it was easy for us. Of cause, dinner was very nice.
The breakfast is buffet style. there are many of delicious items, so easy to find the food for kids.

I did not see English sign, but I believe they can also serve with English.
If you want to go "Senjo-jiki" with ropeway, it's better to inform the front, they will help you to take the parking / bus stop. you don't need to care your own car parking.

I want to go there with my friend in future.

They have nice room for family

When I arrived there in the hotel parking which is located just in front of the hotel, ladies wearing Kimono coming to my car and said "Welcome to Futarishizuka!"
They took my luggage and took me to the reception where I could check in.

After checking in, a Kimono lady took me to the room which is located on 5th floor by elevator.
When I got in the room, she served me with Japanese tea and explained about facilities in the hotel.

Every service was more than what I expected and I was impressed by her hospitality.

The scenery from the window was so good.  I could see beautiful mountains from the window.

The quality of Spa was also good and I could enjoy take a both in the big bathroom on the 1st floor.  There was two big bathtubs inside and outside of the bathroom.
I could enjoy bathing outside while watching beautiful Japanese garden in front of Rotenburo (Open-air bath).

The dinner was also excellent.  It was Kaiseki-Ryori (traditional Japanese meal brought in courses) .

When I checked out, the hotel employees saw me off and bowed until my car was not seen by them.

I have stayed a lot of Japanese style hotels in in the past, but it was the first time I have received such nice hospitality!
