16 reviewsWe loved Pension ChauChau and we are really looking forward to come back. We are a family with 2 kids and a baby, travelling from Australia. It's our first trip in Japan and we have booked one room for a week at Chauchau. The owners are extremely friendly and helped us and the kids to feel like home. The lady is a great cook, you should try her filled savory or sweet breads! We can walk to Goryu ski resort from the pension, or catch the free shuttle at the bus stop around the corner. Goryu is a great resort for families, as they have a free kids indoor playground, and many food options. My eldest son learned to snowboard with me on the green slopes , while my husband was playing with baby and my 5y old at the resort. We were taking turns watching kids and snowboarding. At the end of the day, relaxing at Pension Chauchau was good, playing board games in the commun living room or into our room. We got to learn a few Japanese words with the help of the staff, which was on our traveling to do list. Thanks for a great stay.
