Hakone Kuranju

Unfortunately we had only one night here while visiting the area to see Mt Fuji and surrounds. We were happily picked up by the owners as the walk from either Oshiba or Motohakone pier would have been a tedious up hill walk for around 20/30min. Upon arriving the hotel is set in beautiful surroundings with very friendly smiles. The hotel rooms are certainly on the large size for Japan and are well appointed. Each of the rooms also have beautiful views down the Valley. The hotel also has two private outside onsens on site so make sure you book them if travelling in the busy period. Certainly a great way to sooth sore muscles at the end of each day. The meals at the hotel were quite nice and a mix of both western and traditional Japanese. You do have to book in dinner as all meals are at set times which the owners follow to the minute. If I was ever to be back here in Hokone area of Japan I would certainly make more time to stay here for a couple of nights. Friendly family owned with exceptional service.
